deciding what to get next

The Megan y is just like the nismo. Same shape, same pipe sizing. Only way to tell them apart is probably just looking at the little metal plate with the brand name.

hmmm alright so maybe i'll go with those, you still have to extend them like the nismo correct? and how do you know the metal isnt a different quality, weld work is as neat, etc....i mena i understand i can get them cheap but i mean are they really worth the less money?

Have you guys seen the Megan Racing Long tube headers im seriously about to buy them. they are sooo sick and they eliminate cats. The header extends all the way to the y pipe so like I said no cats. They sound amazing just search some vids on youtube. Not to mention theyre a great price!!!!

thoselook nice...

i wouldnt buy from a place that can;t spell the car make correctly.... "infinity"

I Didnt even notice that spelling but you can get them for about the same price anywhere.

They are loud but at the same time they sound nice (yes theyre is such thing lol) Like i said watch some vids on the tube

Since those are essentially headers and test pipes, expect them to be just as loud and raspy.

what about the megan racing ypipe? ive been looking on the z g forums and some dont like them some love them...

i dont want it to sound like a track car i just want to improve performance a LITTLE with an aftermarket Y and the tune i'll be getting from TS

I'd say as long as the welds are good, and its made of a legit stainless material, and the diameter is the same then there is nothing to worry about so get the cheaper option

hmm the megans are only 175 and after seeing alot of positive results with phrases i liked "lotttt off gain on the butt dyno...can feel much more pull on gear shifts"

idk i think i'm going to get the megan y pipe............... :)
anyhbody have any opinions?
and i might as well buy new so the flex part is fresh.....

will this match up to my nismo catback okay and everything?

It is on the loud side

---------- Post added at 07:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:14 PM ----------

The megan racing y-pipe is 2.5 in (from the cat) and 3 out (to the midpipe)

then i stumble upon quotes like this.... :-/
" But, I don't want something that is like Megan products and break in a couple months."

ughhhhhhh lol

so it should fit fine with the nismo catback and stock headers righT?

and how loud is "the loud side"

well what about ichiba? its a little more expensive, same nismo type design....
would tha tbe better quality from megan you think?
they have a one year warranty and a place that sells then is about 40 min from me (from my home)

forget headers im looking for a y-pipe now lol install for eaders is like buying 2 of them

so now idk what to do

some say megan is good but other say they break
some say ichiba is good, which is a step up from megan
apparently gruppe s sucks
i can't find the damn kakumei ones ANYWHERE (only one that will fit without modding)
what about the tanabe?

---------- Post added at 08:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:35 PM ----------

apparently tanabe build quality is very good... hmmmmm

hmm fujitsubo looks pretty good too

You can diy headers but anyways the Megan also has 1yr warranty

even if they have a warranty it's only one year.... and i dont want to go through the hassle fo haveing to take it off and put another on if that one breaks..ide rather spend an extra hundred or two to get a higher quality product

Ya thats true and once you get in the upper price range of Y pipes id imagine theyre all about the same. So you pretty much just pic your fav brand at this point lol

yeah right now i think it's between tanabe or fujibitsu since they seem to be brands that OTHERS copy...and they arent that much more.

right now these are the windows i have up..the order is from cheapest to most expensive, which happens to also be more complaints to less complaints aka quality

Megan y-pipe- $175
ichiba - $225
Motordyne - $430
Tanabe- $450
Fujitsubo $530

from what i see, tanabe is pretty much in the upper middle quality and price wise..

The Fujitsubo and Tanabe seem to both be good but at the same time is it worth another $300??? You can buy a PS3 with the left over money lol

the money im spending on my fx is money i've already put aside just for the fx. i'd rather buy $300 ish y-pipe, install it, and get the ecu tune for $550 and spend 800 for both (approx)

The Megan y is 145 shipped like I said. It has a 30 day warranty. The quality looks good, and they smooth down the welds inside so it should flow well.
