DDM Tuning HID Fog Light Kit

Me too.. But what I ended up doing was taking the plug apart, and switched the wires around. So I can still use the "clip" mechanism at the ballast. It's really simple, all you need is a paper clip to push the pin out and switch sides.

Hope this helps..

Hadn't thought of that. Good thinking. I was just going to wrap it with electrical tape. LIghts look sweet, btw. I got 6k all around too.

Thanks allot just purchase 6k fogs, does ddm sell the dtrl's?
I have 6000K Heads and fogs from DDM installed, and I like the way it looks. Here are some night shots for your reference..

I got the DTRL bulbs from autolumination.. I got the 24 LED bulb, here are some pictures from a previous thread.. *scroll down a little*

It will.... but.. it's all facing forward, so you won't get that "all over" effect behind the plastic shield.
Plus, with the ones I got.. you will get this "multiple spots of light effect." It's hard to explain, you have to see it in person.. kinda like a "disco ball" is sitting behind the plastic shield, you'll see "spots" of little white light glowin'. (that's the best I can describe it, you really have to see it for yourself)
The ones that I got is called "SMT Tower II" http://autolumination.com/7443_7440.htm
I didnt get the 48LED or the 60 LED bulbs because people on here were having all kinds of problems with it. They burn out really quickly, so I opted for the 24 LED ones. So far, it's been like 3-4 month since I putted them in, and they are fine *knock on wood*
Here is a pic of the ones I got.. Just imagine the glass shield in front of it.. hope you get the idea..
EDIT:
I just tried taking a picture up close to show you, but all I can get is a white glowing blur.. Sorry.

I am on DDM's page now and looking at their kits... $39.95 for both ballasts and bulbs! Sounds like a good deal. Am I missing something?
http://www.ddmtuning.com/index.php?p=product&id=101&parent=85

Also, they sell replacement D2S HID bulbs for $15. These should work for my replacement bulbs if I change them to 6000k, right?

Sorry for the questions, I guess I was expecting more dough for them so I want to verify I'm looking at the right ones before I snag them up.

Thanks

WOW great price, that's the same kit I have and the seperate bulbs too. I got mine when they were $70 2 years ago, and no problems.

Yep! That's what I paid.. It's relatively cheap and it's from "their" website, unlike ebay vendors. I have had bad experiences from ebay vendors, they would change their vendor name, so you can't get them to warranty their stuff. I'm never buying HID kits on ebay ever again.. Plus, they are all junk from China anyway, and I'm Chinese.. Hahaha

I had a problem after installed DDM fog light kits.
They were ON beautifully but just one head light ON. Turn fog off , headlights working again.
Is there anything I can do to make them work correctly ?
Your reply is appreciated.

Try turning on headlights first.

Then turn on fog lights.

If all 4 ballasts are pulling from your battery at the same time, the drain can be too much for one or more HID bulbs to not ignite. If this problem persists, you could install a relay to the fogs so it directly powers from the battery and not the wiring harness.

do you need to buy the HID harness as well?

To be honest, unless your battery is low on life, you should be fine.

I've only had this issue with analog ballasts, as the start-up arch pull is higher than the slim digital ballasts. This is why I ditched my analog and re-bought the newer slim digital ballasts.

Problem solved.

Before, only in the winter, only one of my fog lights wouldn't ignite. I don't know if the previous poster meant to say headlight vs fog light not lighting. I only had the head lights not ignite with ebay d2s bulbs. Typically only the fogs won't ignite, but it is 100% possible the headlights won't due to not having enough power.

Other also avoid this by buying a 20 AMP or 25 AMP fuse and replacing the 15 AMP fuse. I don't suggest this. I don't know what the wire is rated and the 15 AMP is probably there for a reason.

You can always be safe and buy a wire harness, but to reach the fogs, it has to be pretty long.

It works OK when turning headlight first then fogs.
Did anyone else have this problem ?.

yes, I did. I switch to slim ddm digital ballast and it solved it.

if you already have this, you're stuck with getting a higher fuse or wire harness to power from the battery.

yeah, I do have the slim ones............ stronger fuses going to solved it ????
how come we don't have a post to show what need to be done to solve it ?????
my 2 cents

at start-up, the ballasts pull maybe 5-10 amps, typically like 6 each. Sometimes it spikes higher than 15 AMP and 1) blows the fuse or 2) just doesn't ignite.

you can go to a 20 amp or just connect one of the fogs to a wire harness.

Another thing you can check is your battery strength, but since you're probably turning them on while your car is running you should be fine.

I just never have them on auto. I turn on headlights, then fogs.

that right it just happen when turn them ON the same time no matter on manual or auto mode.

cool, then the fuse change won't help it.

It's your total draw on the battery/alternator at the same time.

hid's draw less amps while running, but at start-up much higher than halogens.
