Cabin filter question..

I just saw I beleive turbo's write-up for changing it, but how do I determine if it needs changing?

Is there a given mileage for it?

Thanks!

I change mine when I cant bear the A/C smell...

but Infiniti has it on the schedule maintenance.... I believe it said every 15,000 or 30,000 (not sure)

I think you should change it when you see more dust buildup on the dashboard. Otherwise should still be fine.

As for that stank a/c smell, it can be solved by turning off the a/c and letting it run with the regular fan maybe 5-10 minutes before knowing you will park. Gotta blow out the condensation inside those air ducts! That condensation is causing the stank!

Make sure to use the carbon activated filter instead of the paper one.

anyone tried this one? it has baking soda and carbon in the filter (cheaper price too)

I just got the charcoal one from filtermaster. Great investment.

Ive been using those already and I think the key is to wipe down and disinfect the cabin air filter compartment.
I was less happy with the last carbon filter change since I skipped the cleaning step.

I do run the AC off to reduce the smell, but it seems to come back very easily.

this filter I posted fro FRAM seems cheaper to replace so I can do it more often.

Hey Merch - what do you wipe it down with?

Nice find on the Fram one on amazon- I was just about to order the other charcoal filter for the fx on there but will give this one a shot.
