Bully Dog Tuner Triple Dog GT for 05-08 FX35

I've heard of '03s using a different ECU type, but not sure about '04s. I think some early '03s didn't have the OBDII plug?

Edit: Got some information mixed up, but here is what I have heard: "First, one guy had an 2003 model, one of the first off the line apparently, and it had an ECU model Smokey had never seen before. Apparently Nissan released the first cars with a totally diffrent hardware ECU, then quickly switched to a different hardware ECU and it has been same till 08'"

It's in Japan that they don't have OBDII ports.

Finally received it but can't get it to connect to the update agent. Will have to call tech support on Monday.

Haven't had time to install it, also the update agent does not work with windows 7 yet.

Tried to install my triple dog gt but hit a code 440 which means my ecu is not in the system. I have to call BD tomorrow and they are going to write a program for my ecu, they said it would only take a couple days.

Been running the triple dog gt for a couple of days and honestly can say I do not feel that much in the performance department. The acceleration does feel smoother with the acceleration sensitivity set to high, but in the higher rpm's it feels pretty similar to stock. The horsepower and torque band may have been readjusted very slightly cause the car does have a slightly better lower rpm pep, but nothing major. I can't say it has given me more horse or torque but it surely did do something....just not much of it.

I adjusted the triple dog as follows:

Premium Tune 91 OCT
Rev Limiter 7100 RPM
Speed Limiter 180mph <<-- I will never use this or need it.
+2 Timing advance
+50 rpm idle raise

The unit itself is pretty cool though, lot's of features. Once you install the triple dog gt to your car it is married to your car...meaning you cannot use it to tune another fx unless you return your first car to stock. You can however do +2 timing advances and idle adjustments on as many cars as you want without unmarrying it. The gauge feature is nice, you can monitor a variety of parameters...A/F, Intake Temps, Coolant Temp, RPMs, MPH, Thottle, Volts, IPW, Trans Temp, Timing, Maf, Fuel Economy, Fuel Flow, Load. It can also read and erase diagnostic codes. Has a performance testing function which I haven't used yet, and a driving coach for those looking to hit a certain mpg's.

New Settings:

=========================

Premium Tune 91 OCT
Rev Limiter 7100 RPM
Speed Limiter 180mph
+3 Timing advance (Yes +3)
+50 rpm idle raise

=========================
Difference is the +3 advance in timing, I know that people say that the ecu will only allow +2, but it holds and makes a huge difference in low end torque. Might be the software that makes it hold but it definitely does and I have tested the difference between +2 and +3 for a couple of months already. WOT I am getting around 12.8-13.0 on the wideband, no knocking - pinging, etc.
