BC Coilovers Info & Unboxing (03-08 FX35/FX45)

I've been riding on the BC's for some time now. I've driving at different adjustment settings over this time. What im feeling is the springs are a bit mushy mainly at the rear. Let me explain, when driving down the highway and hitting a little dip in the road the car squats hard in the rear, fronts seem ok. You can feel the back end go way down and then up. Never felt this with stock, Eibach or H&R's. I tend to ride mostly at a few clicks from hard to try to control the squat but at higher speeds it doesn't help much. The FX does handle way better than all 3 springs in cornering. I like them highly for this. Perfect ride would be H&R spring ride with BC handling.

I know of another member that has mentioned to me he's feeling the same squat with the Megan's.

Because the rear height adjustment is the way it is, consider doing the spring bucket mod to lower the spindle, so you can have the spring at a higher position. Spring rate alone will not solve the issues being mentioned. I haven't looked to see how the shock body is on these. They do have the spring rate proportions correct with higher rates in the rear.

Thanks Viet...Ill be look into the spring bucket mod. Im willing to try anything.

A quick iphone pic of my dirty ride with the current drop. All four corners are inset just slightly w/no gap, can't get a finger in there.....(difficult to tell in pics with shadows and the black plastic well lip) The 295/40's are lower profile so the FX sits fairly low but the rear lower brace hasn't hit for awhile =). Best indicator of ride height is my front mudflaps which I plan to take off this weekend.....on a level surface the bottom of the flap to the concrete is just under 2.5 inches. I plan on raising the rear 3/8" when I get some time. No major issues and still happy with the BC's.

Thanks guys! Really happy with ride. Performance PLUS the right amount of rubber combined with the BC adjustability makes for a fairly comfortable ride around the city.

Ohhhh yeah i remember that. Didn't turbo do that....??

So in your opninion.......how does this mod complemate the BC rear set-up exactly...??
I kinda think what you mean, but doesn't that depends on how low or high you are...?? So when you are not that low and adjusted the spindel/spring higher and therefor wider from eachother ( with spindle i mean the big screw wich you can adjust and is on top of the spring) so you would get a weaker stabilisation and maybe harder as well....?? When being lower the whole adjustemnt function blends more into the spring making it more compact.

With the bucket mod you can get lower.......but still can adjust the BC kit........or were you meaning on taking the kit out and doing the bucket mod....keeping the OEM schocks and say H&R's....??

So in 2 words: Tell me

So, 6 years later, how is everyone liking their BCs? Was an answer ever found for the rear bounce issue on the highway? Have any better options come on the market?
