BC Coilovers Info & Unboxing (03-08 FX35/FX45)

Another BC install

Thought I should keep the examples all in the same thread. Set up the BCs at factory settings, but 12 clicks from soft on the fronts, 8 from soft on the rear. Ride is SO much better than OEM and definitely better than the Eibachs. Adjustable dampening is everything about feel.

Is that the out-of-the box height? That looks great.

I'm guessing you don't have any rub in the rears with stock 20's and no spacers?

We actually adjusted the ride height one time after seeing the BC "factory set" a little lower on all four corners.

I am running 20mm spacers all around with no rubbing.

Nice. One of the cleanest looking FX's -- it will be a sleeper for sure. Chrome wheels, Stillen exhaust tips and Stoptech's peeking through, it all flows very well together.

Having a red car makes the non-sport tail lights look better on yours=)

Lower that antenna one notch down!

+1 on the great looks and the fogless mod

Once again good eye!

In reality the intercooler piping interferes with the back of the fog light assembly, so I could not keep them in. We decided to trim the back of the bumper foglight to avoid the interference. Before cutting, one of the shop guys discussed an idea for those fog ports. On the right the fog port will become air ducting to the intake filter. On the left side it will port to the intercooler. Both will have 90 bends so viewing from any angle is just darkness. Right now you can see the tops of the intercooler piping through the trimmed bumper. After we duct the ports, there will be no sign of the intercooler or piping. The only thing left to figure out is how to mate the ducting and if we can create a smooth venturi ring like entry. I trust the shop to get it right.

Wow, your 45 looks really good logan! Do you ever think about removing the nissan center caps for infiniti ones? I love the stance of the fx. I went ahead with 25mm spacers all around for me, thanks to your input, and I love the stance the fx has now. Looks so good.

Also, your parking spaces in the picture are really close together it seems. Hopefully people are dinging their doors into your car or brushing the side of the car while walking past.

Thanks Aerobfa-

Still resolving my wheel set-up, tomorrow I get my second set of 10.5's installed with new rubber and some additional drop, very curious to see how it turns out. Caps are still up in the air, haven't decided what to do. Part of me still likes the subtle Nissan call-out....Yeah the spacers make a HUGE difference, if you have OEM rims with OEM rubber the 25'mms look perfect.

if anyone with the bc's can happen to look at the numbers printed on the springs I'd love to know what the spring rate is that they include with this default setup... I believe it was said that the numbers on the springs correlate with the actual spring rate but was never mentioned what the spring rates actually are.

Now that isn't very nice.

does anybody has any pictures of how LOW these can actually go? I am thinking of getting these but want to be able to have zero gap in the back (my fenders are already rolled) and maybe a bit tucked in the front...

I'm not sure there is a lowest setting just because every tire/wheel setup will probably rub before the coil-over it bottoms out as low as it can go. I think the answer is, these coil overs will go as low as your particular tires/fenders will allow them to go. 20" wheels with 255/40/20 might rub where 255/30/20 could be perfect. Nice thing about the coilovers is that you can get right up to the hairy edge of whatever setup you happen to have. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Purchase with confidence! And excitement. The ride is sweet once you get the damper settings dialed in.

Didn't you see FXLR8 first pictures, that was pretty low. I thought I remember him saying he was scraping the front and bent his rear lateral bar. Based on that I think it will go as low and even lower than you want it.
