BBK GB feeler thread

don't forget to bed the brakes to avoid warping!

you have extras of everything, apparently all under your desk =)

That's a great pic, are you guys actually referencing install instructions?
There should be plenty of clearance with the GTR wheels but I have extra spacers just in case.

10/4 on the fluid change, What kind did you use and how much? Shop will take care of it but they are good re: input (and I'd like to know going in)

Yes - referencing the instructions when we didn't have clearance because everybody we talked to "assured us" they would fit with OEM wheels. Apparently not for my year? Since I swapped front hubs and got spacers, she's been perfect at any speed.

I went with ATE Super Blue Racing on a buddy's recommendation. It's not recommended for the FX, but once you go to stainless lines and aftermarket calipers I don't think the manual's recommendation applies anymore.

Anyway, I figure I'll be doing most of the little maintenance jobs on it since everything is aftermarket and I would trust very few shops to do it the way I want it done. So I went with ATE because well... it's blue. It was very easy to install the lines and calipers, then I added almost a full quart of the ATE and bled out each caliper (in the proper order) until clear blue fluid pushed out all the OEM fluid. They also sell ATE Super Red of the same DOT 4 rating, for the next time I flush the system and push out all the blue. In terms of performance, it's a DOT 4 but if you read up on the product, the rating is a formality and this fluid is used everywhere - street, track, strip. Product has a higher boiling point and says to change it after 2-3 years. Can't complain about performance...

Wow the BBK looks really amazing. Too bad I'm in Chicago, I would so get this setup with the chrome calipers, wow!

It's going to be Christmas again tomorrow for la_fx35 when you get your delivery, lol. :wink (2):

Hahaha, wanna stop by to see unwrap my belated xmas present tomorrow?

Hey, weigh the stuff if you remember. Calipers, rotors, etc... I never did that but should have.

Did you get front and rear? Can't wait to see them. Maybe you got the black? =)

No, no. Red with black letting. Just like Lance. My just got delivered and it waiting to be unwrapped. I'll make sure I got them weighted.

The fronts are approximately 70 lbs., the rears are approximately 70.5 Lbs., I'll weigh them tomorrow once EVERYTHING is unboxed....

Are you looking for individual part weights Ed?

Yes, and if you could weigh the bolts holding the rotors to the hats too that would be great. Just kidding =)

Haha, naw it's for you too, I never did it and wish I had. But no chance i'm removing mine to weigh them now!

Hah! I was seriously thinking man, I bet he is going to ask for individual part weights.....

I am curious to see how they weigh out against the OEM brake parts. Whats your guess?

I am jealous looks good lance. those are going go well with the gtr wheels. nwfx meet could come quick enough, I'll be home for a few weeks time to catch up on some mods.

Looks almost too good to hide behind wheels and get brake dust.... almost.. Can't wait to see them mounted.. Congrats on the big purchase, they look awesome.
