Auto Folding Mirrors Solution?

Hello everyone! Long time lurker...first time poster

I am looking into the fx50s...and since my current car is a bmw 335, i've been accustomed to auto folding mirrors ( using remotekey, but now can be coded)

However, no one seems to have/found the solution.... (besides the Saleen00_227 designed one and the japanese site one)

Well, hopefully this can help. My friend showed me a subie site where a guy bought a module and hooked it up to his car....

the guy used a "ZMC auto fold module", which is available on ebay (dammit, newbs can't post links, just use search)

Someone please figure this out! I don't have the car yet...so anyone who has electrical experience should look into this, or at least get member Saleen00_227(?) to help you with the wiring.. and write a DIY!!

First off welcome to :iS:, have you searched the threads regarding the fouling mirrors?

yes i have, as i stated above ( the modules by saleen and the japanese site.) Seems like no one can find a module that they can buy..i think i may have found it...unless some one else did and i didn't see it in the searches

Great find. Yes, you are right, we have been looking for one and this may be it.

I may not get to this for awhile since I'm pretty busy right now, but I'm sure some other 2nd gen guys will jump on this?
 
So you are trying to find a way to fold the mirrors via FOB once outside of the car?
 
basically what most people want here, mirrors to fold once we lock the door/set alarm with key fob...at least that's what i gather from all the older posts

the idea is to have them auto fold when you lock the car and auto unfold when you unlock either through fob or by locking the car on the handle, etc.

Been actually wanting this for awhile for several reasons. Right now you have to manually click to unfold or fold each time you lock/unlock the car.

Hey AB_FX35, i would suggest PMing Saleen00_227 as he figured out the wiring for the module he built. Good Luck and PLEASE post a DIY when you are finished!
 
Not sure about the second gen but on my 08, the folding mirrors don't work on ACC power. The key needs to be at the ON position at the very least. Don't know if this matters or helps.
 
I figure that I will find the power/ground/acc from a nearby source from the driver kick panel
I need the Central lock/unlock signal wires that I hope will be around the driver kick panel as well
If some one have a wiring diagram for 09 FX35 it would be great help for me
the rest of the fold/unfold mirror wires will be connected to the manual fold/unfold mirror switch already on the FX35
A little about my background
I used to be a car audio installer years ago so I have installed lot of electronic components before and recently, anything from headunit to full option alarm/starter combo in older and newer model car so I am very comfortable around the car electronic component.
I will give this a try for sure when the module get to Canada as I have been looking for this mod since I owned the FX35
I will keep everyone up to date with the progress and definitely make a DYI for everyone else

I am still waiting for the module to get to Canada
I have received service manual from Fire0nic3FX and got all Power/ground/Acc and open and close wires figured out at the mirror switch
I still need help on finding the central lock/unlock wires
Anyone know where these 2 wires located or which service manual I should look into?
Saleen guy does not know where these wires located because his module does not need these wires to work
To Fire0nic3FX can you send me the rest of the service manual?
I think I am missing some sections showing the central lock/unlock wire maybe an anti-theft section
