ARK needs you! FX50 exhaust system!

I wanted to get a GoPro video for you guys of the car moving and under load but since I need the first prototype to come back I have to wait. The second video is just a side profile that I'm struggling to upload on YouTube at the moment because I shot it on my 5dmiii

Again my decision to not go with a camaro loud is that we can never get quiet from loud but you can get louder from quiet

This sounds very similar to my setup right now. (Like lerry said, they are extremely similar anyway)
Im sure it sounds much better in person. If the driver wants to go louder they can always change out the resonator - It's easier to go louder vs. quieter.

Sounds pretty good. I got sick of the muscle car sound 24/7 and it was annoying while driving. The FX is a good mix of luxury and sport (much less sport, arguably, than a lot of other "sport" SUVs) so I dont think it really sounds great with a LOUD v8 noise. It's cool for a while - who doesnt love a v8 sound - but shortly it becomes annoying....

i think this exhaust sounds good. We need more FX50- specific mufflers. However, I'm pretty sure you could just use the one for the FX35/37 on the FX50 - so is this 50-specific exhaust actually different?

nothing against your exhaust Jordan, but yours sounds nothing like the Ark's exhaust video. Just sayin....

I got there a little late and couldn't listen to it in person. I have to wait for the prototype to come back
I bet it sounds even better in person

It is going to be a little quiet for most V8s but keep in mind this exhaust was developed with families in mind to make it wife-approved. You get the best of both worlds and when you open up the exhaust it really takes off. Look wise it may be similar to what jordan custom made but the internals of our mufflers and our helmholtz pipes are extremely different. Pipe and material thickness comes into play as well for quality and sound.

Fortunately because this was an FX50S we were able to design the exhaust around the active steering, yes you can bolt up an FX35/37 ARK exhaust and cut the pipe short but you will hit a lot of things underneath the car as clearance is not exactly perfect, thus redesigning a completely new cat-back. Again video's don't do justice of what it sounds like in person, I wish you all could hear it. Some of you may ask what the main differences are between V1 and V2 of the FX exhaust and to be honest besides fitment there are no other major advances, maybe a little more refined sound but it is not enough to make a significant difference. Some may actually prefer the V1 for the FX35/37 simply because there is no extension pipe due to the V2 being shorter. Hope this helps everyone..

Sounds a little too quiet for my liking as well. I am trying to find a happy medium between what my muffler delete sounds like now, and what this first ARK video sounds like. It still sounds good though and would probably please the majority of the buyers looking for a sportier sound.

I agree, they look very similar but ARK's has a way deeper tone.

A simple option would be do delete the secondary cats with a straight pipe, that should give you the V8 loud growl you're looking for

Currently exhaust is on hold because I put it on hold, I'm unsure to push this through to production or not due to the market being very iffy...

Lerry - Few questions:
Is the pipe diameter 2.5"? If you were to guess at a price range, what are you thinking this would sell for? Any dyno runs before/after to gauge performance gains?

While I think the exhaust note is a modest gain (and anything would be better than stock), I would lean more on the performance side than sound per se. Would be good to hear under load, and again, would likely be better than OEM tone! Thanks man.

Thanks!
Chuck

Here is another video.

To answer your questions:
- Rough estimate is MSRP $1899, up from $1799 from the previous FX35/37 exhaust
- Pipe diameter is 2.5" because there is no significant benefit from 3"
- FX35/37 made an additional 10HP / 9TQ give or take a few, the FX50 has not been dyno'ed yet and might not be but due to freeing up the exhaust you'll definitely see some gains along the lines of the FX35/37 if not more because the FX50 is much more restricted than the FX35/37

man it sounds good.
subtle when you need it, LOUD when you want it.
