Anyone NOT affected by the bubbling dash?

& Transmissions too, although I have a rarity. Mine crapped out (40K) & I have no reverse. lol. Doesnt stop me from getting out, but parking is my challenge.
Will be getting rebuild on it next month. Upgraded clutch packs, transgo shift kit & external cooler :)

how did your trans crap out? how much will it cost ect?

havent heard of trans going out tho? does fx45 use same tranny as 35? there is one local to me sale for 700.. [Dead Link Removed]

What?? How did your tranny go with so low mileage?? That doens't make sense....u think you just got a bad one? I know you track the car but
do you push it really hard? Def get the Transgo though...I love the way it stiffens up the shifting.

Will also prolong the life of the transmission...less lag between gears, less heat, basically toughens up the transmission.
 
This is not due to running it hard. My shifts are always clean & I have changed fluids a couple times. It's a piston or just worn clutch band. Reverse only. Forward engages right away, & it goes through the gears as new. The dealer has seen this on some G's, but it's very rare. It also throws no codes as they predicted. Only way to fix is to break it down. So . . I get to rebuild.
I'm scheduled to go in on Sept. 12. Specialty-Z is doing the work. NOT DEALER. It's gonna cost me about 3K P&L using my box. That's a really good deal.
Parking is just crazy. I have to either park on incline where I can roll it out in Neutral, or have clear access in front. It's a good reason to take out our MDX instead. But as long as I dont stress or think about the parking, all is good. I Still do the canyon runs. It just takes a little for-thought for parking, turning clearance, etc, forget parallel parking.
My wife wont drive with me. Stresses too much about getting stuck. One time we found a spot, I said "perfect". She's like Huh? I asked her to sit & steer while I pushed it back into space :)
 
LOL...that is ridiculous. I know that sux and I don't mean to laugh but 2 funny. Hopefully well at least you will get a nice tranny upgrade.
Heard Specialty Z does great work....so you should be in good hands.

What is the warranty on the dash in Canada? In the US, they extended it to 8 years or 96K which to me is very fair. I've seen lots of other cars newer than 8 years with cracked dashboards from the sun. At this point, your '04 is 11 years old so some wear and tear is expected as well as damage from the elements.

same thing as you guys. 8 years! but this dash thing is such a widespread defect i figure it should be a lifetime warranty thingy..hehe

the seatbelts are lifetime warranty. they know we have shitty seatbelts that retract slowly.. i got my driverside done last year.
 
Guys read some of my post regarding the lawsuit against them for this.

In my last deposition they asked different things if they would "make me whole"
Ranging from straight money to get replaced either at dealer or elsewhere
no cost replacement at dealer and 1 year warranty with warranty on new dash again if bad in the 1 year
no cost replacement at dealer and 3 year warranty total
no cost replacement at dealer with $ for depreciated value of the car with a known issue

Also what I over heard the techs saying at the trail was the glue used was not rated at over 110f and has issues with humidity.

what boggles me is why the fuk do they replace your dash with the same dash that has a defect? i been reading of people who had their dash replaced twice or more times like wtff?! doesnt make sense to me.
 
They were forced to pay $2mil to the owners in MO.(around $2000 each) Infiniti is appealing this.
Current case is Cali and Texas owners.

Yep someone else who testified in MO had 4 dashes in 6 years.
 
The replacement dash is actually different. The cover is a different material, it's not as soft and has a different texture. It feels more like a solid piece than a cover over the dash, hard to explain. It's also cheaper looking - less luxurious. Mine has been fine since the replacement.

As for the seatbelts, that's a safety issue whereas the dash is a cosmetic one.
