Anyone know a good brake shop in brooklyn

$170 is a screaming deal for spring/shock/strut install. I was quoted ~$500 by every competent shop in my area before I finally just did it myself.

As for resurfacing vs replacing; I would highly recommend on-car rotor resurfacing if you're going to have them resurfaced at all. Doing the job while the rotor is installed ensures perfect balancing and alignment, which is not the case when you remove the rotors and have them resurfaced. I was quoted $100/axle ($200 for all four corners) by the only two shops in my area with an on-car brake lathe.

$40/wheel is a little steep for installing rotors. I use mediocre tools in my driveway and I can do all four in less than an hour, easy. Id either try to get him to drop that price a bit or take BklynJohn718 up on his offer. It's not a difficult job at all. If you can change a tire, you can change a rotor.

interesting I guess it was a price just for me. what color is your fx? i can give them a call tmrw and ask for you. They installed my H&R springs and struts for $170.

So I went to the place you sent me ...he wants $40 a wheel and I asked him. How much to install h&r on mine he said ...he said he won't know until he do the brakes because he don't know how much work is involved ...every car is different .

its sliver and i have a 50s so it might be that i heard it might be a lil more work ...with the sport brakes and all ...but if you can call him and get me a better price ill owe you one man thanks

I went to a shop where i use to have work done on my maxima ....and he wants $150 to install all pads and rotors + $50 to replace front and rear differential oil , im gonna go with that and just have my transmission serviced at the dealer.

I know this thread is 4 years old, but I was wondering if the shop on 129 34th street on 3rd avenue was still recommended as place to go to?

yeah man, sorry but I am not really a mechanic shop, just bodywork and paint really.

on the fx it probably pays to just replace the rotors, will make a better job & last longer & less labor than resurfacing, which might cost almost half as much as just getting new rotors anyway.

hi turbocad -- i was wondering if you still have your shop -- I have a G35 Coupe and want to come to you for a few things...

His name is John. His shop is focused on body work and paint. Doubt he'll brakes or mechanical stuff nowaday. Give him a call if further questions.
