Another IS member who got into an accident today :(

I would let the insurance handle it as he's already proven that he cant be trusted by lieing. That way your gonna get the FX fixed the right way.

I personally would just go through insurance, i mean what are you going to drive while your cars gettng fixed? Atleast insurance will give you a rental. Since its not your fault your rates shouldn't go up either. He works at the dealership but he's not a body man. Just cause you work at a dealership i doubt the body shop will fix it for free. So since he has to pay anyways, i would take the money from him and go elsewhere. Just show him two different quotes. If he doesn't give you the money right away i would then go through insurance

At the end of the day these are just vehicles. As much as i love my fx i always remember its a material thing. The damage isn't that bad and you're not hurt

I understand where you're coming from, but in New York an accident of such circumstances is 50/50 fault-wise. I don't want my insurance rate to grow even higher, seeing how im paying for a 2010 Volvo XC60 (second car, which i would be driving while im in the shop) and the infiniti. It's not that big of a job anyway. If he does a poor job I might as well shell out my own money for a second fix.

OOoooo i see someones chance to have their lower trim painted when they repaint their bumper.

Its a lease :disapointed: Maybe if I decide to keep it towards the end.

Besides needing the bumper repainted a good body shop is going to want to blend the fenders too since liquid platinum is a metallic color.

Ended up paying out of my own pocket, after seeing the shops circumstances LOL. If you can even call something horrendous like that a shop. I wanted the job done right. Quoted for $300 at my close friend's body shop. Will post pics after its done.

I would like to thank all of you for talking me out of it. Half-ass jobs don't cut it!

are they blending?

Let your insurance handle it. Before you know it you won't be able to find this guy or he won't answer your calls. It will be a big mess for you.
