I don't think the Lexus IS's use the exact same set up as us though.

im sure they do. its very common to have a rubber seat between the spring and the strut.

I just made a observation. I dont think the rubber seat would stop it from happening, but the picture with the broken spring did not have one.

My point is that the pic is of a spring from an IS so the diagram won't prove anything. I think you thought that was an FX spring?

^^^yes , I though it was from a FX. thnx for clearing that up.

but I want to make sure everyone check and use the lower rubber seat.

yet another, wireboltman from the org... ironic in that he's been a long time defender of eibach & always saying how he races autox & goes through tons os salt & snow & his eibachs look brand new... wild...

YES! I have won, I knew it was only time until his broke also. I'm surprised he admitted it, too.

wow.. cant believe wireboltman also blew his spring. He was probably one of the strongest defenders of eibach's springs

Quote from Wireboltman

"As I said earlier, mine look like they came out of the box.
There is absolutely no rust anywhere in any of my wheel wells, or any of my springs. I took a light and a mirror and inspected all 4 extremely well."

Eibach owners please be careful out there. Looks like Eibach springs on the Fx begins snapping after only 3 to 4 years. As turbo’s own opinion there is a metallurgical problem with these springs as used in the application of the fx

Custom shocks and spring set up

Hi, sorry to hear about the blown spring. I just wanted to tell everyone that I have just installed a custom front/rear LDK with adjustable hard/soft tuning.

Here in Taiwan the roads are pretty bad and bumpy so just changing to H&R springs would cause my shocks to leak for sure but now I have the full kit, and u can lower and adjust the comfort of the ride at will. The fronts are installed but waiting for the back springs. The ride is much more comfortable and the handling is awesome at high speeds as I have also the stage 4 supercharger from Stillen.

Let me know if u have any questions.

Laters,

The dragon

Dragonh,

please show some pics when you get the rears in. I wonder how low you can adjust it to?

maybe start a new thread detailing your install?
