2nd gen BBK upgrade: KIDO, AP Racing by Stillen, FX50 Akebono, D2 racing

So if I want to run Stainless Steel braided lines, I would buy the ones for the FX35 and then I may need a modified banjo bolt. Sound about right?

I really want the Akebono BBK ...

I see that CZP now has the kit for ~$2K. Did the price increase recently? First page has them quoted at $1600.

I will likely go with Centric blank rotors. But how about pads? Any feedback from the guys running Nismo or Stoptech street pads? I want something that has good pedal feel and stopping power but is quiet. Dust isn't the biggest concern, nor is heat capabilities since I am doing a few hard stops at most at a time, not canyon carving in this thing.

May as well do SS lines at the same time even though I don't think they'd be noticeable on a car with <50K miles. Is Zebra now providing SS lines with proper-fitting banjo bolts?

Wondering what else I need, parts or prep, to tackle this, besides for the kit from CZP (calipers, rotors, pads, lines, fluid) and a dremel for the dust shields.

Finally, F* Infiniti for not including these brakes with Sport Package in North America.

I actually just upgraded my brakes to the akebono on my fx. I purchased the stoptech rotors with pads and ss lines from member zeebra555. I'm happy with the rotors and pads in my fx

I've only had my FX for a little over 2 weeks and I already miss the Akebono pads that were on my A6. It's amazing how little brake dust you get with those. At a minimum, the pads will be be going on soon.

Which Akebono pads did you have?

And OCAL - where did you buy just the calipers? Anything else needed (brackets, pins) if you buy the pieces individually?

I bought the stop tech performance brake pads that caw with the package that zebra made for me. The calipers I purchased from circle-Infiniti on eBay. Just the calipers are $999 and the calipers with the hardware are like$1300. The thing is that I just checked on their eBay store and they don't appear to be selling them anymore. My calipers were actually purchased by my wife and there was member here that was selling a complete set for cheap but I don't want to put his name bc I don't want to brake a forum rule. Hopefully he sees it and chimes in. Good luck with the upgrade which by looks alone makes the vehicle look better

I actually just went on the eBay store for circle Infiniti where I bought the calipers and now they are asking $1300 for just the four of them and $1600 for all four calipers and the hardware. This is the second time I have noticed that they increased the prices big time. At one point they used to have just the four calipers for like $900 and the whole set plus the hardware for $1100

^ That sucks! So CZP at ~$2K with pads and rotors isn't bad. What other hardware is needed?

Hopefully this other member chimes in. :)

I have a set of front fx50 akebono bbk (in great shape) for sale, includes pads and new hardware kit. I'll even throw in a set of shorten banjo bolts. I'll have to setup up a classified post in the near future.

Quick question what is the number for the akebono pads since I have the akebono sports brakes on my fx. The dealer told me that there are like 5 different pads. Don't know how they should change when the calipers are still the same from 09

Maybe they were looking at the G37 w/ non sport brakes as well. For some reason I was at the parts store once and they couldn't look up the FX50 brakes so I had to ask for G37 pads and he could not understand the difference between sport and non sport. But you're right, should only be 1 pad that fits all.

I don't think the guy even knew what he was talking about. C when I said the sports brake calipers are the same from 09 and different models use them so you are trying to tell me that if I get my brakes done here you can't figure it out. He said they would have to grab the caliper and se which pads worked. Maudie a reason to charge more hourly lol

He might be talking about pad "revisions" The part number has changed several times over the years I believe...

I need to change the brakes soon so I'm looking for recommendations. What brake pads brand have minimal dust and eliminate the squeeking sound?

Weird... Did some quick searches on Tire Rack and INFINITIPARTSUSA.com to see what's available, but they don't show the BBK option on either...
