I appeciate that tchuck :) I wasnt coming here to start a fight with someone, I just want to share my passion for cars/trucks with people, I am looking forward to meeting you all, and continuing to having engaging conversation..... and yes, I know my personality doesnt always smell like roses ... lol.. my wife tells me all the time.

Lets get the snow race setup already! Whos down?? !!

I thought the same thing, except what IF they do DO some damage, but then dont fess up to it, and ship me the car anyways with the 'damage'. Thats kind of why I thought, well maybe I should do it, after seeking advice on how best to remove them. I'm sure they are some shitty stick on crap.

side note, Logan offered me $1800 for the 21's is that in line? If they are THAT cheap brand new with tires and sensors, then SHIT, my wife can go curb bang'em all she wants!!

Jon

How does one answer a PM back through a public thread? For reference the last set of 21's I was looking at were $1,800.00, NOT including shipping (that was four months ago) My two sets of GTR wheels I purchased averaged $1,800.00 as well (I purchased the second set piecemeal).

I was inquiring if that was a reasonable price for a brand new set of wheels and tires and tpms, I dont think it is. I also know GTR rims can be had for 1800 if they are the old version, but you did not get them with tpms, center caps and tires all around for that price (unless you were VERY lucky). Also its well know that there is variations in colors between the wheels, so people prefer to get them in a set, to assure they get wheels that look identical. Congrats on your piece mail approach, I hoped it worked out well for you, at worst you'd just have to powder coat them to get a match and you'd be all set. I had read that the 21 inchers could command as much as $1000 each online (found out that was ebay), and so I was suprised by the 1800 offer, but you DID state I should go for whoever offered the most. Which I plan to do, should I decide to sell them, but most likely I will just take it to Ebay for simplicity. If I was selling just used rims, I would take the $1800 offer.

Thanks,

Jon

Not that I would buy these for my wife, becasue she'd toast 'em. But is the listing true, that no US FX50/35 came with these, and so they arent available in US ?? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-INFINI...Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item41619d2d6d

I like them actually, wife says 'too many spokes'

I wouldn't believe anything in that listing. For one thing the title says "brand new" but the description says "used" multiple times and carries a used disclaimer stating that you should expect them to be damaged.

Aren't these the 2012 Limited Edition wheels ... not that rare if they are.

Yeah, see that was my confusion, I thought I had seen them on 2012 version of the FX. Thanks for helping me make the connection, so back in 2010 they were on the 'millionaire edition' but now they are also on the 2012 limited edition.

Thanks!

Jon

Looks like the LE wheels, but just a lighter finish.

The first GTR set I purchased were gunmetal (not near blacks) and price was $1,900.00. They were in perfect condition, and came with both center caps and TPMS (GTR TPMS will not register on the FX BTW) and rubber, I had the tires removed off by the owner to save shipping as the run flats are heavy and are too low profile for the FX. The other wheels (all 10.5's) came with TPMS and caps (less one cap actually) two were excellent, two needed minor touch up, on average they were cheaper and all were color matched.

The 21's I have considered buying for awhile as a second set. I have had two deals set up, the first one a year and a half ago with nearly new rubber for $2,100.00 (that would have been a good deal) and this last set for ($1,800.00 Inc. shipping) in perfect condition.

The norm on iS seems to be pay it forward for the members and offer your best price OR just post ads elsewhere.

Missed this fast paced thread! Exciting to have another Chicago guy on the forum! So...Welcome...(little tardy!) glad you got your answer you were looking for and hopefully will see you at one of the MANY Chicago meets that take place!

I kind of think the GTR rims look better on the Gen 1s then on the gen 2's. But I still like them on the gen 2s.

The 21s do look great, but they dont scream 'performance' like the GTR rims do. Plus, I bet the GTR rims are stronger being forged vs the Cast 21s.

If the tire sizes were the same between the 2 vechiles I would have already tried the GTR rims out on the FX50, but I know it will look 'wrong' with the GTR tires still on my rims.

Hi guys,

Sorry...girl question here. Although I do love how the OEM 21" rims look on my 2010 FX50S, I am NOT excited at the cost of replacing the tires. IF I decide to change out the 21's for 20's....am I going to experience a noticeable difference in performance? I've been reading through a number of forums and the lingo/numbers are over my head. My tire guy quoted me for some nice looking 20" rims AND tires and they're less than JUST a set of 21" tires. I drive about 22K-24K per year and don't know that I want to spend close to $2K every time I run out of tread. Thanks for your help.

Also, re: the Tech package vs. the Sport package...in 2010, you could get both...mine has both and it's awesome. :) Someone mentioned the dual headrest mounted DVDs....they were a separate option in 2010.

Thanks again, Shelly

If your swapping out tires pretty often, 20" are going to be cheaper just from the fact that they are a common size, where 21 are not. Performance difference should be negligible.

Bonus is that you should be able to easily sell your 21's without much effort.

You could easily get 20" tires that outperform your OEM 21" tires, and considering the larger sidewall of the 20's, the ride will probably improve as well. The appeal of the 21's is visual.

Good Point! I am sure you would even be able to trade the wheels when the rubber is shot for a set of 20" wheels with new tires.
