Curious, I looked on line at the listing for the car I bought, and it oddly enough says 20 inch wheels, but I thought all FX50's came with 21's ? Maybe its a mistake on their listing, or am I wrong, and they are only 20s ? Did all FX50's come with 21s or 20s? Did they change from 09-12 at all? I know there is a special edition 2012 version that has different rims.

All black, nice... :)

2011 and 2012 models have adaptive headlights with the sport package. I mean yours doesnt have it because the button on the buttom of the dash is blank. It use to come with the tech package in 09 and 2010.

Ahh got ya. So no automatic lift gate, (what is that?) and no 'daptive' headlights (those the ones that look around corners ? (exageration a bit)

Nice cars, welcome to the forum.

So no 22" HRE's for her I assume. I'd leave it stock, with OEM wheels and tires.

Both gtr and 21's will sell fast, but I would say 21's will grab more money due to rarity, but gtr's will be more desired due to being forged and 20's being able to fit more applications.

21's have slim tire choice too vs 20's.

You are in luck both clear the big brake kit.

You could always just buy a "cheap" set of wheels/tires from tirerack.com and see how that goes then upgrade to the 21's/gtr's...

Wise advice. on giving her training wheels first :)

I dont know, I just dont feel like wasting money on buying her another set of wheels and tires, MAYBE if the fx50 had come with summer tires, then sure, but they already have all season, so I really dont have an excuse to have 2 sets of rims for her car. Hell I have two for the GTR right now, which I think is over kill, a good all season tire will be fine.

100000% agree, already told my wife those are coming off, where the Fk did they get those from? I was going to have them do it, but I figured, I'd probably be far more carefull removing them, but where the hell did they get those pos's from ?

Hahahahahaha

LOL

Hmmm no clue but they are aftermarket since the ones on the FX are always black. I notice the dealer loves putting chrome all over everything they have inside the showroom. Cheapens the look IMO. If I were you I would make the dealer remove them so if they damage anything removing them they can't blame you for it.

I thought the same thing, except what IF they do DO some damage, but then dont fess up to it, and ship me the car anyways with the 'damage'. Thats kind of why I thought, well maybe I should do it, after seeking advice on how best to remove them. I'm sure they are some shitty stick on crap.

side note, Logan offered me $1800 for the 21's is that in line? If they are THAT cheap brand new with tires and sensors, then SHIT, my wife can go curb bang'em all she wants!!

You need to post up in the classified section on iS and post your price....you did it on the GTR website, why would you do it here? you'll get nowhere getting PMs and then asking what is fair on a thread.

I think you missunderstood, I needed help valuing the 21's, so how the heck could I have posted a price on them, and listed them on the site? My question regarding pricing worked exactly how I wanted it to. A few low balls came in, and then an appropriate one which really explained the market. Guiding me towards Ebay as the best selling venue, if I chose to just sell them.

This thread was intented to find out how valuable the 21s were, vs the 20s GTR, 20s Enkeis. It surved its purpose as I would now say: 21's more desireable (With a decent rough guess on where to start my price on ebay should I sell them), GTR 20's I already knew, and Enkeis being the least valuable, so I will likely run those on my wifes car.

Problem solved, thread did what I needed it to. :)

You could had just asked guys on the site what u think these rims should be listed on eBay for. You would have wasted less time. Just sayin.

You'll soon learn this site is more helpful than other sites. No need to beat around the bush on here like you may need to on other sites you've had experiences with.

The meets are different too and you'll see if u go to them. I've had meets from several other forums before and they are just not the same. We have just been lucky to have a ton of genuinely helpful guys here. I've been to plenty of other meets where it's just a show off don't touch mentality with egos blasting that quickly gets old.

See thats the nice thing, we dont have to agree, and in this case we do not. I've been on all sorts of forums for the last 20+ years (If you include BBS's) and so while I am new to this forum, I am not new to them in general. I am perfectly ok with how I started this thread, what I titled it as and the information I gained from it.

I've had the fortune of never having been to one of those. From my Porsche, Viper, Jeep, Generic Car Clubs, GTR get togethers, I've not met such a crowd, and glad for it. I find most of the car guys I have had the pleasure of meeting are just hard core car guys who really appeciate and are genuinly interested in all types of cars. I would expect nothing less from this crew either.

So, you've been on car forums for 20+ years, have well over 150k in cars (with plans to push 250k), but you're going to cry about a $100 curb rash repair on a $500 wheel?? Color me confused...

*Poof* I have colored you confused! I do not have to adhere to what you consider appropriate for what bothers me and what doesnt. I do not like my cars (regardless of cost) to take damage, on their body, interior or wheels. If that makes me odd because I have the good fortune of affording a collection of cars, then count me odd then. Maybe you are ok with knowing a car was wrecked and then repainted? I am not. The same concept applies to wheels. If she damages them and I repair them, I will ALWAYS know they have been repaired, and likely I will ALWAYS be able to pick out which wheel she damaged even after a repair.

So I prefer to lesson that impact on myself by allowing her to only potentially damage less expensive rims that cost me less to replace.

If thats odd, thats odd. My car collection or affordability for one thing or another has absolutely no bearing on how I feel about wheels getting damaged. I have NEVER understood that argument, that just becuase someone has x amount of money they are not allowed to worry about inexpensive things.

One of my best friends who probably has tripple my networth complained to a waitress one time because she short changed him $2 on his 'change.' And out of a matter of principle I agreed with him, and we stayed around the resturant until the waitress returned with the $2 change, which I am sure he just left as part of the tip. The $2 was not worth our time, but it was something that was relivant to him, so it was relivant to me.

... then count me odd then.

Poof. I have counted you odd.

My point (I thought it was obvious) was that you clearly aren't a penny-pincher when it comes to cars or anything your wife points to and says "why don't you buy me this", so it would seem a $500 wheel (if you're against repairs) wouldn't be such a big deal.

Your confused, and I'm odd. Such is life.

I think we have a different version of penny pincher, because I actually do think I am one. Some things I see as worth spending money on, other things I do not. I do not think $500 a wheel is a wise spend everytime my wife curbs a rim. But $1600 for a set of video headrests that will keep my children entertained for hours while we are doing a teck to MI, are so worth it. I'd rather drink office coffee vs starbucks, (I'm not really a coffee drinker, but this is a true statement when I need a cup). I feel $5 for what others would consider a 'quality coffee' is wasteful on me, as a '50 cents office version is just fine.'

People are different, and maybe I have the money I have to spend on cars because I save 'pennies' in other areas, who knows...

But I do not ask you to defend you perspective on life and how you spend your money.. I'd appeciate if you did the same for me. And also allow me to make the titles of my posts however I want, and have whatever context in them that I want. And if you do not like me or them, just put me on your ignore list, no?

...

Indeed.

FWIW, the thread title suggestion was as much for your benefit as it was for the rest of us here. The nondescript title you chose for this thread both delayed the answer to your very simple question and created confusion among the very helpful and knowledgeable members here. I was trying to help because your question and thread title made you seem like a newB. In fact, I have nothing against you and couldn't care less what you do or how you do it.

I would however like to see a GTR vs FX50 drag race in the snow...

I see us being of different threads and not likely going to see eye to eye. I can assure you right now, I will not adhere to some presuposed title naming convention you have for me, I will do the titles as I see fit (assuming the adhere to board policy) and we'll see how it goes. I was in no rush to get a conclusion to my questions, and I enjoyed the dialogue up until you felt the need to school me on how to make a post. So I seem like a newb? who cares? its ok in life to be a newb, we all were one at some point.

We can move on.. I have no hard feelings either way... I'll see if we can arrange a drag race in the snow amongst some locals, I'd enjoy the competition.
