## NOTE ##
Here's some tips when doing this mod:
1. Steering wheel removal is absolutely not required, don't waste your time, you'll just end up having one more thing to put back on and all the headaches about it. The steering column covers come off easily, just undo the screws, separate the top-half from the bottom-half cover, push forward for the lip to come out the back of the steering wheel and voila!
2. The steering column cover that's on the 2nd Gen FX (Cover that you need to replace to put on paddles), you can retain the top half, its exactly the same as the one for paddles. The only difference is the bottom half instead of being one piece (non-paddle version) is three pieces (paddle-version). The steering cover is one part number so you can't buy individual pieces, so you'll get the top and three bottom pieces. You only need the bottom three.
3. Take your time with the steering column covers, they're not the most robust plastic especially the little pins and tabs used for alignment. They're brittle especially if your car's been outside in the cold (Non-issue guys in the south).
4. When swapping the tilt joystick from one bottom cover to the next, retain an upright position. Want to make sure up on the switch lifts the column upwards (Obvious I know

)Hey guys, so I got the bracket the other day and man this looks pro!!! Laser cut, professionally bent, front studs welded on and the harness is of OEM quality. I'm going to be mounting it in the next couple days and taking lots of photos. I'll have it wired up as well and report back for those who are on the fence of doing this upgrade.

Any chance that one may be able to modify the bottom panel so that the only things that will need to be purchased are the shifters? Thanks for your suggestions - very helpful!
You mean modify the bottom steering cover to hold the shifters without the bracket? The steering cover is not secure enough, it's only good to hold itself. Also the tilt switch is in the way of the left shifter, so you would have to either relocate it or remove it. The proper cover extends the tilt switch away for the left paddle to fit.

Opps sorry - i meant cut out the bottom steering wheel cover so that the paddle shifters will fit. This would be for the '10 FX's that already have the mounting tabs. Then maybe drill another hole for the tilt control, kinda like how the 1st gen FX's do it.
Not sure if the price difference between the paddle shifters w/ and w/o the covers is huge, but just another excuse to bring out the dremel :smile (2):

Gotcha, well you would have to cut a vertical slit on each side and openings where the paddles would poke through. Then stretch the plastic to allow the paddles to come through. Just like that EX paddle install pic earlier in the thread. The tilt switch has a limited length of cable. Cover is about $80 maybe less

So I finally installed my paddles with Rex's bracket, I must say I'm impressed and that comes seldom... anywho, I took photos throughout the install, I'll post them in a few days. One thing to watch out for is the sharp edges of the stamped metal brackets all over the place. Most important part about the install is the right tools and PATIENCE!! When you're dealing around your dash with tools and radio's sticking out, it doesn't take much to create a mark (I didn't, I used towels everywhere).
I tested the paddles before putting back all the covers and panels. Works amazing, better than shifting with the shifter.

Already have the paddles on my cars from the factory. This is for a future trade-in since the FX lost the paddles after 2009 except for the FX50S
I may try the fit of the 2009 paddles on the bracket to test the mounting and electrical connectors - hoping others will chime in.

Black is most expensive, rest are different colors that are not very popular. They all used to be the same price meaning black was cheaper than now. Guess they raised it because demand was higher or the other colors were not selling as much. Who knows.

Here is the complete bracket kit!
The bracket is made of stainless steel.
I finished 10 kits.
Paddle shifter Bracket set
Connectors with wires set
A04 FW connector for right side (up) paddle shifter
A03 FW connector for left side (down) paddle shifter
Terminals for "TH40FW-NH" connector behind A/V box! The terminal is as same as OEM terminal.
Green wire --> Up shifter
Orange wie --> Down shifter
To connect black wires to ground (e.g. Metal body)!
