Hi Guys,

im planning on replacing my waterpump, coolant temp sensor and thermostat as preventative maintenance. The parts in there were all original parts and i want to be proactive and not have the water pump die on me as i plan on keeping the car for a littl while longer. i have 174K miles.

My question is, Ive looked everywhere and only see water pumps being swapped out for the older gen FX's. when i look at engine photos i dont see where anyoen would access the water pump without removing the pulleys and front engine metal covers with VVT's.

How would a mechanic get access to the pump. Also, I plan on ordering the Geniune Inifinit Water pumps and parts, how much would labor be?

I just found this video:

The HR engines require the timing cover to be removed to install new Water Pump. Looks and sounds costly. I'll get a quote tomorrow and let you guys know.

I guess i'll have them do the chains and tensionsers while they're in there as well.
