2006 Infiniti M45

I'm happy to report that my M has finally made it back to the body shop and I sold my wheels & tires.

So I hope in a few weeks to have a new look for 2014 but this time I want to have a more aggressive look, time to make some moves.

Small update = rear of the car will now be 4inches wider (oem widebody). This was not planned when I said I wanted to go aggressive.

all metal body work should be done in 2 days, car should be done by 2/21

Now I need good weather.

Here is a pic of the 1st cut done last week:

Cut was done just a hair under the gas cap line in order to use most of the oem metal as possible.

The goal is to extend the rear quarter 2" out while keeping the oem look & lines.

Is there an inner and outer fender? If so do you plan on welding them together or use adhesive?

The fender was cut away from both inner fender & quarter panel, I had the part in my hand.

The inner fender was pushed up in order to make more room for the big tires (285/30/20) with the drop I have set on the coilovers, it was all welded back together to keep the original support.

The 2 rear doors have been extended about .50" at the door edge and then smoothed back even before the molding on the door.

When done it should look like oem with a small extension at the center of the fender lip, each quarter has been extended 2"

We had a few guys that looked at the car (full view dead center) from about 40ft away and couldn't tell it just had a wide body done, even with the quarters in primer . It will blend more when painted.

Car should be painted by this Sat

Well I just got the car back a few hours ago from the body shop and so far everything is looking good. Black roof & wide-body done.

They didn't get to install the 2 front hub bearing or the 4 new black zinc crossed drilled/slotted rotors. Had to get the car out before the big storm for Sunday night. :-(

Car needs a big cleaning job in & out, under the hood & trunk needs to be put back together. After all is done new wheels & tires will be installed.

I'm hoping to get everything done quickly but weather & temp will be a factor.

So I spent about 5hrs on the car today in this cold weather.

I was able to put everything under the hood together, clean & vacuum the interior. I was also able to put the trunk together but they didn't give me all the clips. All I need is the clips and re-install my sub box and the trunk would be done.

I'll try to clean the inside of the windows tomorrow.

Pending on how big the storm coming on Sunday night I'll try to install the brakes & hub bearing early this week, wheel & tires will be last.

As soon as everything is done I'll post pics.

Here is a pic of the black roof:

Car will need to go back to the shop as the clips that hold the trim that goes from the front windshield to the roof and ends on the trunk need to be replaced.

Well I was able to install the rear brakes & rear new wheels today too, I'm hoping my cuz'n has time to help me with the front brakes & hub bearings tomorrow.

I'll have some pics soon, I hope.

Well all the major stuff on the car is done. Just a few things here & there that still need some attention besides cleaning.

Here's a pic I took in the garage:

The wide body came out so good that it's even hard to see in the pic, even the concave of the rear wheel isn't fully shown. She'll get lower when I fill the gas tank up (now 1/4 tank) and put the sub box in the trunk.

Wheels are staggered Niche Nurburg with Vredestein tires

Front: 20x10 et40 with 275/30 (small concave with 4" chrome lip)

Rear: 20x10.5 et15 with 285/30 (deep concave with 5" chrome lip)

It looks so different in person.

Looks great! The knobs set off the media center well. I like how Tue widebody turned out. Can't wait for the upcoming photoshoot.
