Time to add another car to the fleet. Wife wants either a 2006 BMW 325xi or 2006 Lexus IS250 AWD. We need a good AWD car for her now that we bought a house with a decently steep grade leading up to the house. Also it's out in the country with dirt roads, roads that don't get snow cleaned, etc... We've crossed out other AWD cars due to her not liking how they look:rolleyes:.

Any opinions on which one to get?

Go for the lexus. Why not a FX AWD if you dont mind me asking? She doesn't like the looks?

Thanks for the feedback. Need something with better gas mileage, but the main reason is that we already have my FX45 AWD. Don't really want two of the same car in the garage.

Don't you just hate it when you ask a simple question offering 2 choices and some idiot chimes in with something totally different? With that said...I would go with an Audi for the benefits of Quattro alone.

But out of those 2 choices I would pick the BMW.

hmmm do the EX come in awd? haha that wouldnt be 2 of the same car and we'd have another EX member here!

Haha. I wanted her to get an A4 originally for Quattro as you mentioned, but man I keep hearing horror stories of Audi's in the shops. I owned Benz's up until I owned Infiniti's and will never deal with that again. I always end up pouring money into the car fixing it, that I just have to end of keeping the damn car just because the money I put into it cost more than the car. Most stories on Audi are electrical nightmares.

Wife is going to be driving a 2006 White BMW 325xi. 32,000 miles, dealing is putting on 4 new Bridgestone Run Flats, full warranty until 2010 (free maintenance), and certified pre-owned warranty until 2012. All options except navi and xenon headlights (that means I'll be putting in a HID kit).

Thanks for all the feedback.

So finally took delivery of the 2006 BMW 325xi. Been so busy it's just been sitting at the dealership until now. This one will most likely stay mod free, but did get a chance to put some exhaust tips on.

it's a clear choice the IS250 AWD. i was actually considering one before getting the FX...whatever you do. do not get the BMW, trust me on this, all it will give you is transmission and electrical problems...BMW also has very poor quality and reliability issues

To late, already pulled the trigger but thanks for the feedback. I have remaining warranty and pre-certified an additional 2 years after, so don't have any worries in the near future.

The Lexus didn't have the driving character that the BMW did. Either way, it was the wife's choice in the end.
