2004 INFINITI FX35 with Pioneer Double Din Head Unit and Custom Suede Headliner

No extended wiring needed, its long enough to relocate the screen below. You just need to cut all the plastic inside to fit the aftermarket unit and oem screen below.

Oh, WORD, thanks for the quick reply. I'll be taking the dash apart this weekend to take a looksie and plan on getting a nav system installed by V Day for the wifey. Thanks!

Anything special for adopting the radio? Or I guess I'll figure it out when I look behind the screen for a separate radio harness (disconnect?)

The regular double Din unit will stick out of center console for sure(165mm unit depth), there is not enough room. Here is my 1st setup:

You either need to find a unit an inch or so shorter than 6-1/2 in deep, or separate the main screen from unit(How I did it here).

That looks great, I am extremely interested in doing the same in dash install to my 2005 fx35. I am somewhat confident in my cosmetic abilities, but I do not have enough knowledge about the wiring process. Is there any information you could share about how to wire an aftermarket 2 din in dash unit into an FX?

Is the wiring harness/the colors of the wires similar to standard domestic wiring harnesses?

Thanks for any assistance you can provide and, again, great job on your custom install.

You will need Metra 70-7551 to wire an aftermarket unit. Mine is hardwired, since I removed all Bose components.

oh another question. where did you get that shit boot thing? can i get one for my fx too ???

This was one of my first projects when i got the fx to change my radio out for a pioneer double din. Tedious work. Took me about 2 days to finish. After all said and done the pioneer brought new life to the bose speakers in the fx.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 2

Thanks a lot for the information! So where exactly do I incorporate this wiring harness? Also, Do I leave the wires connected to the stock screen plugged in and just mount the screen in the new position? Also, this will work with all my stock BOSE equipment?

Thanks again!

This will connect the speakers/amplifier and power to an aftermarket unit. The OEM screen has a separate connector, you just need to relocate the screen.

Ok thanks, I ordered the harness, do I need the antenna adapter too? Also, did you custom cut the bezel around the clock where you mounted the stock screen? and how did you trim it around the edges? Hopefully I will be able to finish the install next week and post pics

Yes, you will need the Nissan antenna adapter, I think. I cut the bezel with my corded Dremel and used some Bondo to make it pretty.

Hey zebra just curious what glue you use before that failed through the summer?

and how did you wrap the sunvisors I'm having trouble lol

This one failed on me:

This one still holding up:

I used a sewing machine to wrap the visors. Removed the old fabric from the visors to create the template. Then sewed the pocket using a sewing machine. Put the fabric pocket on the visor, trimmed it and finished sewing by hand:

I'm sure there are other ways to do that also.
