Soooooo The butterfly ports are the real winners with regards to increased AF. Transition from butterfly inlet into the port is bad as it is cast and the butterfly port is machined is rough. This is what I downloaded from my operation (or rather what Charles my expert was able to accomplish):
Remove the butterfly's and shafts (carefully dissemble the shafts and plates) Port the butterflies to the entry to the lower manifold. You can remove about 4mm from that entry point and from the butterfly point, is is rough machined and it will take some time cleaning it up and making a nice smooth transition from there to the lower manifold but it will be well worth the time.
This/these are the high point(s). A flow pro will explain this so much better than myself. I have asked Charles to better document the process he'll provide more soon currently he is slammed with finishing up my car and a GT3 (hey, maybe he'll get confused and return the wrong car)
A proper CAI, a bored TB and the cleaned up manifold is an excellent start to the intake process on a budget, throw some cams in there to create more pull then add headers, HFC's and a decent exhaust.......
