Impul stuff isn't cheap, then you'd need to ship it from Japan on top of it. They even have a stroker kit maken the 4.5 to 5.1, 20 grand plus your motor!

This looks fantastic! Great work, I might have to go this route.

Thanks fellas, I debated for a while if I should do it myself or not because I didn't have any prior skills in polishing but I'm glad I went ahead and tried.

Anyone in AZ interested in getting custom long tube headers? It will be made by http://www.ppeengineering.com/ and would need the car for maybe 2 weeks to fab. From what the rep has said depending on difficulty the cost could be around 1400, same as ISF pricing. They don't need a group buy and will make a one off piece just fyi.

I would REALLY watch the quality on these BUT if they can be made for $1,400.00 (and they are of decent quality) $1,400.00 would be a steal.

Nothing negative about the company, just my personal experience of having my own set of long tube headers made for the vk45. Shorties at $1,400.00 would be a good price, long tubes for $1,400.00 is again, a steal. It's all about quality of build as the materials are not cheap to begin with, PLUS the removal and install are not an easy task......No negativity, if they can do it for that price that would be awesome for the VK community.

Something to think about also is the longer cats on the 06+ VK's (not sure if your M has them but the FX's changed it up in 2006) if they want to provide plug and play fitment that would be something to consider.

Gotcha, I know jba titan shorties will bolt up to the 06 vk45de which is a cheaper mod but the manifolds are slightly different. Id rather do long tubes and get rid of all the cats lol. Idk if my platform has longer cats but I do know my secondaries aren't there anymore. What is the difference in measurements? I'm tryn to get these made for the 06/07 M's and FX since they have the "same" motor, so maybe it would have to be for specific years in order to interchange between vehicles. I just checked the email and they mentioned it would be ceramic coated.

Ceramic coated is good for heat, sound and rust resistance, it probably takes the place of higher end stainless which is fine. Length difference is 2.5", and losing the cats is good, I elected tun run 300cell HFCs but it sounded amazing without them. The long tubes are much better than the shorties with regards to performance, probably 35-40% better flow (according to the tech who built mine). Really fitment is one of the critical elements, lots of tubes not much space. If they fit one model frame and bay they might not fit another year even if they bolt up to the same engine perfectly.

It still boggles my mind that sir Charles was able to fit those monster headers into your fx without pulling the motor...

What.....? =) If Bono, Geldof and McCartney can achieve knighthood surely a builder of fine racing exhausts is up for a title? =) Although I have to say I am pretty sure he would have been much closer 2,3,4 months ago.......

They mentioned that around july or august there would be time for them to fabricate long tubes, with a local guinee pig. An other route would be to send them oem manifolds with cats atached and they could make em that way. My friend over here in Md did that for his g35 and he's gained a good mount of power from them.
