1st generation fx exhaust on 2011 fx35

There aren't any real issues with the rear muffler, besides one hanger being on the wrong side.
The problem is the midpipe. Depending on the midpipe you have, it may touch the crossmember of the car. Look at post 15, the midpipe is actually about 2mm from touching the crossmember. They would clunk together when I hit a bump in the road.
I actually thought the exhaust was too quiet so I had a smaller resonator to replace the stock one. While doing that, I asked the muffler guy to weld the pipe in a fashion that it was a bit higher than it before so no more clearance issues.

I from the midpipes back, I have the Gen1 Invidia so I should be ok there. The only Gen2 exhaust parts I have are the front Y-section which on the Invidia is 2 pipes. I was worried those weren't going to work even though they look the same and HR Y Pipes fit. But since you went the other way exhaust wise, I'm feeling confident that my idea will work.

Nice. What do you think of the difference in the sound with the new resonator and can you feel any difference in power with the system change?

Windows up, you don't really hear much of a difference. With windows down, it sounds a bit louder and more aggressive.
I should of downloaded the sound measuring app on my phone but I didn't.
I don't think there are any power gains.

If you have a first gen FX, pretty easy mod. Get a resonator and have a shop weld it in. Total cost should be around $100 or less. Definitely worth the improved sound.

As for me, I keep searching for the perfect exhaust set up, and love the sound of this but I want something that's a bit louder in the car. I might just re-install the g37 tanabe mufflers and sell this set-up.
Just wanted to share the clip that I've been meaning to upload for a while

Finding the perfect exhaust system is a bit like chasing the wind....no pun intended. So many factors involved in sound quality and quantity. Fun experiment if you have the time and patience tho'.
