- 2009 FX50S
Ever since I had the Pirelli Scorpion's (275/45/21) put on the FX50 I've been having tire balance issues.
I've been to Discount Tire today for the 5th time. Each time they come out perfect and then about a day or two later I notice slight vibrations at highway speeds, almost as if a weight comes off (but the weights remain).
Each time I have brought it in they did a calibration and road test to make sure it's perfect. I can attest to that because soon afterwards from 0 to whatever mph it's smooth like butter. But for some reason after 1-5 days I start noticing vibrations. at least one of those times it felt abrupt on the highway like as if a weight fell off but that was only once it felt like that. Today when I brought it in, they noticed one was out of balance by 2 ounces which is a lot and another by 0.75. Previous times it was off by about 2 ounces as well. Multiple people looked at it and verified no weights fell off. None of them have seen anything like this where it's balanced perfect, after a few days it gets out of balance so much even when all the weights are there. Rims look okay and haven't had problems before I switched to new tires.
Now I'm thinking maybe it's the fact that instead of getting the Bridgestones that are 265, I wonder if these Pirellis can lead to balance problems. The vibrations are not much but I notice it slightly just because before it was complete butter. Maybe the other FX50s who have gotten these tires on the forum have not really noticed a slight vibration

What did you do to your FX QX70 today?
Any thoughts on what may be getting these new tires out of balance so fast? With my previous Bridgestone, I literally went 2-3 years without rebalancing. Never needed to even with Michigan potholes.
