Hey Folks, I need your help. I've been back and forth with Stoptech all morning trying to find out if the SS brake lines will work on 2009+ FX's with Akebono calipers. They use to offer front and rear, but now only rears are available somehow. I know that they fit the first generation with Akebono calipers for sure, but 2nd generation is a little different and has a hard brake lines to my knowledge or at least the FX50 does.

My question is, did anyone try to install the Stainless Steel brake lines on 2009+ FX with Akebono Calipers? Thanks in advance!

^Thanks Jeff. Just want to make sure that the rear Stoptech Brake Lines will work on 2009+ FX35/FX37, before offering them to our customers. Stoptech changed the compatibility this month. I think someone complained that the rear SS lines were too short or something.

The 2nd gen rear have hard line on bbk equipped vehicles and the regular brakes are one piece of hose.
Ill add pics in a minute

I have a 2013 FX37 with Akebonos installed. For the rear, I ordered StopTech 950.42500. The line length worked fine, but I had to modify the length of the banjo bolts. They were too long.
For the front, I ordered StopTech 950.42000, again, I had to modify the length of the banjo bolts.

So will it work with the kit i ordered that I should get soon?
I don't quite understand your question.

If you ordered the above part numbers, they will work, but you will need to shorten the banjo bolts.

If you ordered from @zebra555, he may have a kit with the short bolts.

I tried using the StopTech 950.42000 front lines in my 2012 FX35 with no luck. No matter which way I positioned it, I could not get it to sit right where I felt comfortable with it not rubbing anything while turning or with suspension travel.
The factory set up uses 3 separate pieces of rubber line with a section of hard line that runs behind the steering spindle. Its bolted down to a bracket on the spindle as well as another bracket on the strut assy.

The StopTech line was just a long piece (not long enough to route it the factory way & too long to route it any other way without it rubbing anything. The front line did not come with any p-clamps to secure it any where either. It had one of those nuts that get retained with a clip in the middle of the line....thats it. Maybe thats how the first gen secures the line.....

I wound up using the factory front line with the Akebonos....

The rear StopTech lines work perfectly....

You

These lines worked for you ??

Do not order stop tech lines, some idiot sold me a kit on ebay auction stated they were for an fx50 they were for standard brakes, they do not make a kit for akebono brakes. I got the goodridge kit 22036 and they fit like a glove, no mods necessary.

So if I understand the posts in this thread correctly, I will need the following part #'s for my 2013 FX50s:
  1. Front lines - Goodridge 22036
  1. Back lines - Stoptech 950.42500
But it still sounds like the rear lines may require modification to the banjo bolts to make them fit properly?

Edit - sorry, I just realized that the Goodridge kit comes with both front and rear brake lines. Seems that the Stoptechs won't be needed at all.

All you need is the goodridge 22036 kit co.es with front and rear. Forget the stop tech. No modifications necessary. Just bolt them on.
