Your experiences with these three tires....

Hey guys, I'm looking to you for opinions on the following tires. I will be using them during the spring, summer and fall. I'll have a separate set for the winter.


So far I've come down to three tires that look pretty good but personal experiences are always best.

Here's my choices:

Bridgestone Dueler H/P 92A

Yokohama Parada Spec-X

If you've used any of these, let me know how they were in various conditions, how many miles you've put on them, what you liked about them and of course what you hated.

I've noticed the Parada Spec-X seem to be much cheaper than the 92A's but unsure if they are just bad tires or what, but let me know :)

Oh and if there's any others you recommend, let me know. I'm looking for a good balance between performance and longevity.

Not sure if you only want 2nd gen opinions, but I've used the RH06's a lot. I think 3-4 sets. Hard to keep track because I usually do fronts and rears separate.
 
I have over 50,000kms on my Parada Spec X 20" tires and I know I'll get another season out of them before winter sets in. I like them better than the stock Bridgestone Dueler H/L 400s that are on my FX50 21s.
 
i like the rh06 better cause of thread pattern. where you getting tires from?
 
That's a good point, I'll take opinions from both gens. Tires are tires and since the 1st and 2nd gens are close together, the main points about each tire will still be the same :)

I'm not sure where i'll be getting them yet, I've seen them cheaper across the border unless there's a place here that is pretty close and knows how to mount tires without putting a mark on them :)

Nothing but good things with the Yokos and Kooks. I've had both and liked both. I think the Yokos are a little softer, so smoother, quieter ride, but wear faster.
 
try tire23. they got road force balancing and its amost the same price as bying it from the states.
 
Nice! What did you notice different between the two? How's noise and traction? The Duelers look pretty nice as well and what I mean by that is I noticed the thread pattern seems to be like the Michelin's.

^^^I got my Enkei GTC01s and Paradas from tire23

I think the Yokohamas ride a bit softer, the Bridgestone's just seemed like a heavier stiffer tire. The Bridgestone's also seemed a bit noisier to me. As to which one performs better, I preferred the Yokohama's but that could have been because they (wheel+tire) were much lighter (10lbs/wheel) than the Bridgestone's.

Just installed Parada's - Can't be more happy, very satisfied with ride quality and road noice.
 
You know what I can't understand is...the parada's are cheaper than the rest yet they're made in Japan and usually that brings up the price..so what's the catch?
 
I had both the Paradas and the Hankooks on my FX, both performed great. The biggest difference IMO was that the hankooks handled much better in the snow. I have a different size hankooks on another vehicle and no complaints there either (in all seasons)
 
Duellers suck.

I love my kooks, but many say they love their parada's as well. Seems you can't go wrong with either of those.
 
See, the one thing I'm afraid of going back to is directional tires. I've had a set of Yokohama Geolandar H/T-S G052's, and at 80% thread, they started cupping and sounded like I was driving on a steel meshed bridge all the time. Now I"m not sure if this is just a bad design or what. Thoughts?

I swap mine side to side only since direction and staggered and the only time I ever had to replace them due to uneven wear was when I didn't realize my toe was out in the front. Looked under there one day and the inside 2-3" were bald. Otherwise I run them until they are pretty much bald all the way across.

You're right about that, I've had sets that were directional before and never had issues. I guess it must've been a one off with that Yoko set I had. Since I've had the Stone's twice before (OEM), I'll either go for the kooks or the yoko's
 
You should be ok as long as you take care of them, so make sure they are at good pressures and rotate and stuff. I wasn't even very good about it and made it through well enough except that one issue. I did go through rear tires faster not being able to rotate front to back though, but I guess 2 new tires every year is the same as 4 every 2 years.
 
Agree with Stu, the important thing is to take care of them. I always keep my cold tire pressures set at 35psi. I rotate from front to back and back to front. My alignment is on spec (except when I had my lowering springs installed)
 
I have had the yokos on my 22's for a few months now and love them. Way better than the crappy Bridgestones
