Your experiences with these three tires....

You can't go wrong with either the kooks or yokos, great reviews on both from fx owners. Whatever one of these tires you can get the best deal on grab them.

Those dueler's are quite possibly the absolute worst tire I have ever run on any vehicle. My 2 lexus rx's had em and I couldn't wait to get rid of them. Same with my fx. My problem is I really want one all-season tire for the oem 21" size and those crappy tires are the only option unless I do a complete wheel/tire upgrade.

Yokos all the way. Bridgestone has a stiff ride and very noisy.

Summer set up I run 265/40/22 Hankook Ventus RH06's and have nothing but praise for them this is my second set.
Most of my driving is on winding mountain roads not freeway miles so tire tread always is less on any tire for me. That being said I get about 40k out of a set of RH06's.
They really grab the corners without any tire squeal. Also before I started running a different winter set up I plowed through 2 feet of fresh snow with them and they did surprisingly well.
Tire tread runs quite as well.

Bridgestones are the worst they are noisy, terrible traction, squeal in the corners.

I haven't run the Yokohama Spec X so I can't compare them. I do run the Yokohama Geolander A/T S all terrain tires on my 18 OE rims for my Winter setup and am very happy with those.

Wouldn't a stiffer tire mean a better handling and cornering not to mention longer life?

Possibly, but unless you plan on auto-crossing your FX then trust what everyone here has said and understand the duellers are a garbage tire.

And tires have wear ratings, if you want to know which one is going to have a longer life refer to the wear rating, not the stiffness of the compound.

i just got the yoko AVID Envigor in 20", they also nice VERY QUIET

the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus was my 2nd choice

I bought a Bridgestone Dueler H/P 92A from 4wheelonline. The first thing I notice is that it looks more rugged compared with the other 3. Performance wise looks very tough and durable, but quite noise at high speed.

You know what I can't understand is...the parada's are cheaper than the rest yet they're made in Japan and usually that brings up the price..so what's the catch?

maybe at where you live but here in Los Angeles, CA the spec x is $200 more than the kooks. As for the hankooks i vouch for them now. Ive had them for under 5k miles already and love em. Wet traction is a plus, cornerings are ok i dont think the sidewalls are stiff enough. Ride is not harsh. Summer traction is really good. The only downside is thread pattern; it is not really wide. I got 275 instead of 265 and there wasn't a much difference in appearance. I was disappointed in that aspect.

Have only had the RH06s and I love them...great grip. Hear nothing but great things about the Yokos too...cant go wrong with either. I went with the Hankoos because of the tread pattern...

I have had a 2006 FX35 with sport package. Had the Goodyear RSA tires. Awful. Loud, noisy, squeal in corners, wear too fast and very expensive. I now have a 2010 FX35 with 20" rims, and have the Bridgestone H/P 92a. Hate them. Loose, noisy, very stiff. I am getting new tires in a couple of weeks. Probably get the Hankooks since they have a treadwear warranty (50k) and America's Tire has a deal on them now.

07 fx35. Had Michelin's on stock 18's which were phenomenal in any and all weather.. Swapped to yoko's this summer on 20's and wider tires and hold up just as good (great test this past winter) felt safe and confident. I'd say go for yoko's or hankooks whichever you get the better deal for!

Thanks for all your help in choosing a set of tires, so the decision now remains between the Yokos and the Kooks. I never had a set of kooks before so I'll give those a shot and see. Funny thing is they show up as street/sport truck summer tires and not as all seasons on tirerack

I will be interested to hear your own review on the Hankooks, I do like the trad pattern of them and I have been reading reviews and they sound like a good tire.

Will do! Did a price compare, they're cheaper in the US by half compared to here in Canada, smells like a road trip to me :smug:

Don't get the spec-x, go for the yoko yk-580. It is a much better tire. I had both on my 1st gen on stock 20's and would never buy spec-x again.
