This DIY will provide the steps to install the V3 Triton Switchback LED System into a 1st Gen FX.
V3 Triton Switchback System from VLEDS.

7443/7440 Base Adapter.

6” Extension Cable from VLEDS.

You need to tab a length (12” - 16”) of wire to the RED wire of the extension cable. When this extra wire is power up with 12V source, it to light up the white LED. How I power this wire with 12V is from the black wire on the ignition switch connector behind the driver knee panel. So when the car is running the white LED will light up.

Once you done with adding the extra length of wire to the 6” extension, connect all the pieces together as in this picture below.

Pop the hood and twist the turn signal socket out of the back of the headlight, remove the bulb, and connect the VLEDS 7443/7440 Base Adapter into the turn signal socket.

The white wire from the kit needs to hook into the headlight wire ballast red wire. When this wire sees 12V, it dims the white LED down a notch. I strip off some sheathing to expose the bare wire and wrap and solder the white wire to it.

Test and tidy up the wire mess the best you can.

Amber turn signal.

White DTRL when the car is running.
