Possibly Selling My FX...

Primarily due to my wife relocating for work, we are considering something a bit more fuel efficient. 18 to 20 MPG is not cutting it lol :smile (2):

My firm reimburses my mileage and it has been enough to subsidize all fuel costs, but with my wife driving over 680 miles a week, we have to suck up excess fuel cost out of our pockets since my reimbursement is not enough to cover all of it.

I did an analysis and the cost of new car payment plus fuel will net us a saving of $60 a month. I love our FX, but I find this pretty sad lol...

We recently picked up another new infiniti after settling our M35 lemon and this will be a low mileage and my play car. We are going to look at a 2014 Mazda 6. What is appealing is the 38 mpg on the highway which will alleviate our monthly fuel cost. Plus, I have an excuse to pick up a new car and dump a 7 year old car.

If I decide to do it tomorrow or maybe next week, I will put up the following items for sale:
1) 2 rear GT spec braces
2) Stillen STB
3) LMS Black Powdercoated SRI
4) Tanabe Y pipe (maybe I can reuse this on my new infinit...)
5) 20x9.5 5Zigen Gravis 1 Rims and tires or OEM Sport 20s depending on how motivated I am to swap out the wheels
6) Tonneau Cover & Adapter for 06+ - this retailed for quite a bit from what I recall and it's a really nice option to have.
7) OEM Sport SPrings - Not even sure if this is worth selling. I will probably just give them away to whoever needs it.

I am probably too lazy to ship so locals would have 100% preference.

Tough decision. Will be sad to see your FX move on.

I do still have fond memories of S. CA FX gatherings that I went! I have been thinking about getting rid of the FX for the last 2 months. I've been really lazy about actually doing it... but now, I have a justification purely based on numbers. This isn't a financial burden in anyway but it's a really really good excuse to purchase another new car, right?

The sad fact is that my FX is now 7 years old and I just see it as a gas guzzling machine now. ahhaha

Over the years, the FX sort of became a regular car to me after I picked up my M35 and now another new inifiniti.

Would you consider keeping it as an extra vehicle? Probably depends if the depriciation is significant to you.
Any time I've thought of getting a more efficient commuter, I know I'd hang on to the FX and a weekend car. My problem is that come commute time, I would still choose the FX because I will want to drive it.

We already have 4 cars (2006 FX35, 2007 Mazda 3, 2009 G37c, 2013 G37 Sedan). We already have 2 extra cars we don't really need but we hold on to. lol. If I had a bigger garage, i'd consider keeping it since it is the biggest car we have but we don't...

Sad to see another fx go but nice mod list man, members will def be interested in them

I also have plenum spacer and springs, but it's not worth my time to take those out so I'll probably dump the car as is.

from your list of cars, the other 3 are sedans. wouldn't it work out better to keep a suv in the family and sell a sedan for those road trips?

Good luck. I know the feeling all too well
But look what you got Nick.
One heck of an awesome car

Mongolian, sounds like the right choice and you do have some nice rides still in your stable.

It's always sad to see another fxer go into something else, for some reason I feel that I'll be back in another in the future or we hope so.. If u do decide to sell the gt strut bar and other braces please let me know as I'll take these off ur hand.. PM me with pricing

Sad to see another FX go, but then that means another new owner carrying the torch and possibly joining iS.

Keep us posted .
