Summary of ITB12064:

IF YOU CONFIRM: One or more of the following conditions: - Harsher than expected down shifts when coasting to a stop - Hesitation/lag when accelerating after coasting - Hesitation/lag or harsher than expected down shifts when coming to a stop and accelerating again (rolling stop) - Engine rev matching during moderate to heavy braking ACTION: 1. Confirm this bulletin applies to the vehicle you are working on. 2. If this bulletin applies, reprogram the ECM and TCM. See this bulletin for further detail.

This is the third update and a completely different bulletin hot off the press!! I found out about this update this morning and have my appointment scheduled for Saturday morning. Maybe this could be the update to fix everything once and for all???:good:

Going to schedule my visit appointment tomorrow also. I can't stand the lag in acceleration after coasting and the harsh down shifts, the last update helped a little but it could be better.

Aaron what dealer are you going to? I spoke to my service guy at Infiniti of Manhasset this morning and he said said there is nothing new for the FX, and that newest re-flash is a few months old already. Which is about the time I had mine done.

Did you give the tsb number?

NOTE: NO UPDATE IS AVAILABLE FOR THE FX50 and 2012 FX35

Sweet find!! Hope this one is legit. I actually have an appointment tomorrow so I'll see if they have the software update available.

Maybe the fact that I have a 50 is why he's saying I'm up to date, but I doubt it, I'm going to show him the bulletin. Thanks.

This bulletin is not for the fx50 though so they can't just update. Dealer told me before that when doing updates that they run the VIN to verify. Your vin will show as an FX50 so they probably won't do it. The TCM in the fx50 and fx35 are different.

doesnt hurt to ask though.

Won't even bother to ask then, hopefully an update for the 50's isn't too far behind since we suffer from the same issues. My problem was so severe before my last update that when I coasted to almost a stop then accelerated it felt like I was going to leave my tranny right in that spot on the road. Felt like someone ran right into the back of my FX.

Yeah I know how you feel man. The programming is this thing is just terrible. I'm sure the transmission is very nice but the software just ruins it.

I have the same issue as you. If your coasting then slow down and all of a sudden you accelerate the transmission jerks terribly or just doesn't respond. Sounds like its going to fall out cause it stays in such a high gear all the time it doesn't respond. It makes me worry how it will effect the transmission in the long run. That's why I want to hurry up and get this bulletin done.

You live in NY and I live in NY so we both know how terrible the traffic can be. In stop and go traffic the transmission jerks so bad from the harsh downshifts that it makes me sick from jerking back and forth. It doesn't do it all the time but when it does its pretty bad. That's why I dread stop and go traffic.

One of my biggest problems I have though is when I'm coasting at 35-45MPh and the transmission is like in 6-7th gear. It makes the engine and exhaust drone like crazy because the engine bogs down and it makes the car likes stress itself going along because the high gear keeps the rpm so low. I don't really know how to explain it. Since its in a high gear and the rpm is so low when coasting the exhaust drones like crazy. The dealer showed me other FX's on the lot and they all have this transmission software problem. The damn transmission just always wants to stay in a high gear and never wants to downshift. Then when it does downshift it's very harsh. It's almost like its mad or something and saying, " ok you want me to downshift I will but its going to be a shitty ass downshift" lmao

Lol

Well the last update smoothed the jerking in the tranny out a little but the lag in acceleration drives me just as crazy because after the tranny works its way through that initial lag the car drives great and is very responsive to the gas pedal.

so its not available for 2012? i'm tired of the delay I get for accerlation.. I would have to floor it for it to respond, but either then that when I'm in the city and I try to accelerate only my revolution goes up not my speed and it takes a while for it to like downshift so its more responsive.

No it's not for 2012 models. Probably not enough complaints yet.

That also would explain why it's not available for the fx50 either because there aren't a lot of fx50 owners like there is fx35 owners.
