I just picked up a 2003 fx45 AWD and it is awesome anyway to make the transmission shift a bit faster/firmer?
It shifts like a cadillac, slow and smooth!

How often do you drive in manu/sport mode? Try driving around like that for a bit, it really makes a huge difference. It's not gimmicky like some Chrysler Sebring or something.
yupp ^ if u wana disassemble ur tranny and drill holes go for it lol
Thank you all for the links. I will read it and see if it is something I can do myself.
This might be a stupid question, but how do I select manu/sport mode?
I just put it in D and go.
I know I can manually shift it in the + - section, but I was just hoping for firmer shifts automatically.
Sorry I haven only owned my FX45 for a few days. Still learning things, and waiting for the manual to arrive.
There is a kit from that company "Transgo" that was mentioned above. The install is fairly involved but the results are pretty much exactly what you described. No change while cruising around, and MUCH firmer shifts under load. Several of us here have the kit, at least two have done it DIY style, and no one has had any issues. You can find lots of info about it by searching for "transgo" or "shift kit". It is very highly recommended and aside from the cost (parts+install) there is no downside.
Yeah I might tackle it $208 from Summit is not bad, and I am reading through the DIY that someone posted earlier.
Seems like exactly what I was looking for.
I just assumed there was a way to flash it in the ECU, but this doesn't seem too bad.
Really? $208 for the kit? I just check their site it still $229.95 for the kit. Since my 45 is not transgo yet. I'm debating if I should swap the transgo valve body from my 35 to my 45. Any thoughts or words of wisdom?Yeah I might tackle it $208 from Summit is not bad
