To space or not to space, that is the question

Different spacers won't help if your bore isn't matched up. You'd need to get hubcentric rings or maybe spacers in the proper bore size. Spacers will magnify any issues you already have with your wheels. It's very hard to mess up spacers. I've run multiple brands and never had any issues.

I had same problem with my +15 offset wheels.With a +15 offset on the wheels I didn't need spacers.As soon as I put the brand new 22X9 w/265/40/22 Hankook RHo6's I had a shake from 50 to 60mph.I tried everything for almost two years after putting my 22's on----I had tried Allignment and had one wheel straightened, Road force balanced the wheels, and added hubcentric spacers and still had the shake. I thought it was my after market wheels because when I put the OE's on the vibration was gone. But what was really happening was that my rims are 9" wide and they sit 1" out further with the + 15 offset so the combination of the wider stance and tire amplified any looseness in the steering rack. I lived with this problem for a couple of years so finding out how simple the fix was and that my rims were not the problem was a major releif. After the steering rack adjust problem was gone!!!!!

However the same wheels did not shake nearly as bad without the spacers
May have to just suck it up and buy H&Rs for the front to start

aren't your aftermarket wheels Enkeis, if so most of the Enkeis have a center bore of 75mm (and I'm not talking about the OEM Enkeis)
If so, are you using 75mm center rings for them?

Actually the wheels are Niche Circuits and according to the website they do not make 66.1. I have some spacers for a set of Enkeis I have sitting here they may work. I have to see the size of adapters plus the size of the bore on the wheel. Will have to try the rack fix too (thanks mtn!)
 
Mystery MAY be solved...

First off, I tightened the rack. Haven't had a chance to drive on it yet, but it can't hurt!

While the wheel was off, I tried to look for a part number. The only thing came close, which is inconclusive because there was nothing with a full part number, is a wheel with the same bolt pattern for a Mustang, which the bore is 72.6.

I just so happen to have a set of adapter rings for this size (72.6 to 66.1). I didn't get a chance to put them on, but going to try them out tomorrow.

I paid a pretty penny for those spacers other than be wheel centric. I never knew what wheels I would get so I just made sure u got hub centric. These adapters actually attach to the wheel and reduces the bore size to the hub size

So I am ordering a couple of sets of new spacers to see if that is the issue. The pictures are with 20mm all around. I like the looks of the rear, but I am scratching my head on the front. Should I keep it at 20mm or just order 25mm??

I would keep it at 20, it looks flush but if you want poke then go with 25
 
Thanks. Looking more and more at the pics I do think thy look flush
as far as a torque wrench yes of course

Prior to my current career discipline I spent 8 years in the vehicle service and performance industry. I still do all the work on my own cars unless it would conflict or may give me warranty issues in the future but that would only be on my new cars. All other work I do myself.
