New Wheels! - Giovanna Dalar 5 Limited

Thanks Tilley. I got them from Discounted Wheel Warehouse. They had the lowest price I could find, but I'm not sure if I'd order from them again. Their communication became almost nonexistent once they charged my card, were pretty slow to ship, and the rear wheels looked like they had been used. They had residue from having tires installed and they had a couple small scratches that had touch up paint on them. I kept the wheels because you can't see the touch up paint unless you're really looking for it and it would have been a huge hassle to ship them back.

Thanks for the info! I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more pics...

Had I kept my FX these were the wheels that I was going to be switching to had I decided to switch from 24's to 22's. Solid choice, bro.

Thanks guys. I did end up taking a few better pics while I was on vacation in the keys but I've been a real slacker at uploading them. I'll try to get them up tonight.

Oh, are you having any problems with your traction control since you're running different size tires?

Here are the other photos. Like I said before, I'm no photographer but these are better than the ones I snapped with my phone. I took these at a rest area in Alligator Alley on my way to Key West. Enjoy!

Looks great, a BBK would set them off nicely!

I was thinking the same thing, but that doesn't really fit into my budget right now. I figured I'd make a couple more less expensive mods first like paddle shifters and then move on to exhaust & brakes later.

What kind of problems did you have with the TPMS? I am debating ordering wheels due to TPMS, and how it works with aftermarket wheels.

The valve stem holes are a hair too narrow to fit the 11mm socket you need to tighten the TPMS retaining nut (I think that's what it's called). You have 2 options if you run into that with your new wheels. You can either buy the metal bands that mount the TPMS sensors in the center of your wheel and use a standard rubber valve stem (which I wish I had done) or you can do what I did. I ended up buying 10mm retaining nuts from a different sensor and using those. Since they were made for a different sensor they wouldn't tighten properly so I also had to use a small pneumatic grinder to grind down the small lip on the inside of the nut. In hindsight, I would opt for the metal mounting bands. If I didn't know the guys at the shop, the labor would have cost me a lot more than just buying the TPMS straps.

SRQ FX - These look great, all these pics of black rims on white FX makes me wanna get some too !!

By the way, is that 20% tint on your front windows or 35% ?

Thanks Tranceduden, you should cave and do it! I've been lusting over all the white car/black wheel pictures I've seen over the past few years so that's why I waited for the dealership to transfer one in for me. I originally wanted the blue LE and they offered me a better deal on a silver demo but I knew I'd kick myself if I didn't wait for the white.

I think the front windows are 30% or 25%. I didn't want to go any darker than legal so the cops don't hassle me. They've been issuing tickets for everything around here lately and installing red light cameras everywhere. I guess we have to make up for their budget deficit somehow...

Reading your posts , it sounds like you had a lot of trouble getting the TPMS sensor working, any idea how to find out which rims are compatible with our TPMS without any mods before I buy them ?
Is there something I should look for in the specs ?

I would just ask the dealer/supplier you're buying them from. I don't think these were designed to take TPMS but I didn't ask before I bought them. Truth is, I would have bought them anyway, I just would have had some form of adapters on hand before the tire shop started taking my stock wheels apart. I was kind of stuck at that point. Straps like the one in this picture with regular rubber valve stems would have been the easiest route.
