I can feel a slight shake in idle

Noticed this after the dealer fixed the idle dipping thing coming to a stop. They updated the computer and since then I noticed when I'm sitting in park I can feel the movement of the engine running ever so slightly. Like you really have to sit there and pay attention. It makes you feel like your moving up and down slightly. It only does it in park. If it's in neutral, drive, and reverse I don't feel it.

I opened up the hood and placed my hand on the engine and I can feel the movement too with my hand. Can't be motor mounts or misfire as their is no vibration at all. It feels like the idle is set really low for park. To test it out I turned on the A/C and the movement stopped because I know the A/C compressor has to kick up the RPM by about 50 RPM according to the factory service manual. Definately seems like the idle is set wrong. I did idle relearn like 10 times and that didn't fix it. I'm thinking the dealer has to manually set the idle via Consult III? Anyone know what's going on.

I think you should just enjoy that nice ride of yours, you are too darn fussy :wink (2):

I too occasionally get the idle stall but Im hesitant to take it in cuz im afraid the dealer will make something else "not right" in the process of trying to fix this. Is there a definite fix to this yet as it is a known problem with our FX's?

I was going to make a thread asking the same exact question, I noticed it when I was waiting to pick my friend up. The slight vibration would last for ~15 seconds, go away and then come back. Hopefully someone would have an answer to this question

Mine isn't vibrating it just has a slight shake when parked. It feels like someone is in the car shaking their legs. I turn on the A/C and it goes away.

Aaron i would get that checked out at the dealer, souns like a problem and if i was in your situation it would bug the hell outta me

Fixed this issue myself today. Opened up the butterfly valve in the throttle bodies and did a complete thorough cleaning. Shaking is gone!! Almost thought I had a broken motor mount or something.

really? are you sure you didn't switch to decaf?

all kidding aside, a how-to on cleaning throttle bodies would be awesome :wink (2):

yeah Aaron is the man with DIYs.

Just picked a pre-owned 2012 infiniti FX. Love everything about the car except it's driving kind of funky. I too am experiencing this rough idle only when starting the car and when it's in park.

I know i am capable of cleaning the throttle body myself as i did it to my previous truck. If i bring it to the infiniti dealer, will they clean this under warranty? i took out a extended full warranty on the car. I also want them to check a few other things as the car hesitated to start on my twice already and i have only owned it for 1 month.
