Until now, I’ve been struggling with the Invidia cat-back exhaust and have been trying to work it out privately with Gordon, but I was given the green light to bring it to the Scene.
Pretty much this is what has been done so far as per Gordon’s request:
1. Have the nuts and bolts tightened by a mechanic ... Done ... paid/$35.00
2. Have the nuts and bolts tightened by a mechanic again ...
I took it a step further and had the former Infiniti head tech seal it up with the gasket seal.. Done.. paid/$95.00…………..
After everything was sealed up and installed, the tech found a leak behind the welded area just around the resonator.
Since I was pressed for time, trying to make it out to the Tri-State on 4/29/12, I thought I’d just weld it up at a muffler shop…. Paid/$35.00
(I didn’t even want/ask for a reimbursement or the warranty).
Everything was good until a couple days later. I looked under the car and heard a hissing/pssst sound every now and then. So now I’m thinking it might be the welded area again
(now I’d like to take advantage of the warranty).
3. Send video clips of the sound ... Done …
4. Send another video clip with car being reved, and check flanges and hangers as well… Done ... Flanges and hangers are good.
5. “Please see the video 00.05. there is a GAP between the flange to flange Resonator flex joint to connect the X-pipe. There still a leak come from your exhaust.”
How is it possible to see the GAP when it’s not even focused at 00.05, and the leak that he’s referring to… The car engine’s not even on yet..
(Now I just want a refund).
At this point I’m pretty much fed up with everything. So I provide him with a couple of angled and focused pictures and ask him if he can provide me with a link that states exactly what the warranty consists of per the refund policy link.
Gordon is stating that a refund will not be provided since the system is used… (Understandable, but I was sold a defective system in the first place). What do you guys think? Is it me or does the front flange look smaller than the other?
(And right after the post, I’ll be providing Gordon with this link as well).
