Need help with the right tire size for 24's

you need a nice measuring caliper to measure the hub of the wheel, it should be like 70mm or something.

but you need to the exact 70.12 mm, then i can help direct you to get a hub ring that is e.g. 70.12 mm to fit snug against the wheel, then 66.1 mm to fit snug against the hub of the car.

And THATS where I got lost. I wish I could just go somewhere that handled this kind of stuff and get it
doe right away. I got a road trip coming soon and wanted to sport my FX through the states. Now Im stuck till I can get this done. Theres a good chance Ill be hittin the road in a rent a car instead :eek.:

are you near Turbocad at all? You can probably setup an appointment with him and he can measure it for you and you can buy hub rings from him (he'd probably have to order them).

I dont know where turbocad is but Im located out of the Bronx. I took a peek online and theyre everywhere I just need to know the size. Is this something that Rennen themselves could help me with? Or maybe one of these wheel carriers who carry specs on wheels in their inventory? Or does it have to be specifically measured on my vehicle?

Call Rennen, tell them what you bought, they should be able to even sell you some hub centric rings.

Pics look great 24's are looking right, car looks even better when you see it driving in person

Thanks mike. Were you driving your fx when you saw me? Im usually on the alert for any fx'ers around and didnt see you.

Called Rennen they said theyd have to measure it. To take it back to where I bought them. I doubt they do it there but im gonna try. If not Im:squigglemouth::squigglemouth: gonna be caling every shop in the area to see what they can do.

Yes I agree the 2nd gens swallow up the 24's with np. I wanted bigger tires but nobody I tried would guarantee fitment so I just went with the 30's. As far as the drop im just waiting on camber issues to get solved and im on it. Now im just stressing over the shaking issue. How do I find out what size I need for the hubs I wanna do that asap before anything else gets screwed up :/

Hub rings are important but I will bet that you still will get the vibration after you get the correct hub rings.
Most important step to solve vibration is what Chedman suggested as STEP 4:
4) make sure you get hunter roadforce balancing and put the best two in front (closest to 0 road force number)

Especially with aftermarket wheels that size.... you will almost always get vibration if its not roadforced.

Ok so I found a place who put the hub rings on for me and I headed straight for the highway after it was done. Vibration is about 90% gone. Next on my list is the roadforce balancing. Thanks fellas.

Excellent, that's good to hear that it improved, the balancing should smooth it right out.

Make them give you a print out. Also see if they can write the road force number on the tire, facing inward. That way you always know what's best.

Try the higher psi too.

I've got a first gen in my shop right now for some work and the owner ordered 295/35-24's to replace 275/30-24's that were already on there, these are Hollywood's old wheels... these 295/35's are HUGE. they really stuff the wheel well to the max and they look so beefy, not like the more rubber band look of the 275/30's

only problem is they rub like crazy... I'd have to have this thing jacked way up in the air almost stock ride height to ride these tires without rubbing, even with a standard fender roll, but the problem with that is that I just installed coilovers too, so ideally I want to get it to sit nice and low.... def going to take some surgery here, they rub hard front and rear but they look so good without a big wheel gap :)

these are way beyond just fender rolling, these things actually need fender flaring :) I love the stuffed wheel well look these huge tires give...

So what's the plan John, are you going to flare the rear fenders?
That looks so wicked.

From the pics looks like the wheels have damaged the plastic inside the well?

Whoever starts selling the camber fixed issue is going to be rich.

Can't wait to see the finished product!

Camber bolts are already out for the 1st Gen..
