2003-2008 FX45 Modoholic WISH LIST

So sales got back to me and said it was a one off unit for a race team in Europe. :banghead::banghead::banghead: I asked them who I could talk to about maybe reviving the development for a future group buy or straight out selling the plans/specs for someone else to produce, hopefully I won't get the run around. I think we should blow them up with phone calls and E-mails to show the interest. Possibly someone re-post this info on the other forums with their info? If they think we won't go away maybe they will play ball.
This is a call to arms for all VK owners!:ridinghorse:

Didn't they make it from off-the-shelf products? I wonder if you can just buy the supercharger and then have a local shop fabricate the rest?

Do it Joe.

Ok so I got a little higher on the food chain, They said one was made as a proto and one was sold to a European speed boat race team. It was made to be as compact as possible for the limited space of the engine bay. It is no taller than the Factory OEM Manifold! They also developed a Dry sump system for the VK45 as well! They told me that the S/C and dry sump oil system was never made available for sale, however if there was enough potential consumer demand, they would remanufacture a few since it was an off the shelf turbine and all research, plans/specs are finished and proven. I'm waiting to recieve a response back with performance numbers and more detailed info, with pricing and so forth, but this looks very possible! Who is interested in a roots S/C? If anyone is on some of the other sites, please put the word out. :top:

THANK YOU! Been in contact with them, gave them all the years and models the VK was produced, plus mentioned all the G35 and 350Z swaps for a potential customer base. Think we need to blow them up for the green light, they need some persuasion. I did get a dyno number from them of 450bhp on this roots VK blower.

Shut up and take my money! :shakehands:

No price as of yet, basicly they said if there was enough customer demand they would consider putting it into production. So once again, please Email, call them, or any Cali residents stop by their facility. Lets let them know we want this made!

I'm going to start bugging them. I want to see this made!

Please do, ultimately you need to speak with the head of the aftermarket development team, this is where I was last directed but have yet to hear a response.

Here is the link to contact them through their website. http://www.cosworth.com/automotive/performance-parts/product-enquiry/
There is no direct address.

The guy below seemed pretty cool and gave me the backround info and HP numbers.

If we keep hounding them, the more interest they will see, so any help is welcome :top:

Are the intake manifolds on the 45s cast iron or aluminum? I'm assuming its cast iron. I'm looking at DIY polishing kits and most of them are for aluminum.

Idk if you ever did it but I polished mine with a kit from harbor freight and some elbow grease. 1st one to do it with an M!

Has anybody seen the specs for the impul throttle body? They have one for the M45, only thing is its expensive as hell and no one has bought one here in the US.

I'm actually working on finding a local place right now that will port and polish a manifold for me. You have pics of yours? I will look into the Impul TB. Depending on how much, I would definitely try it out and be the first to share my experience.

Ok, just read some posts on the 370Z forums and some of these JDM Impul TBs go for $3000. Forget that, lol.

Yeah I only polished the outside, funds went to other mods for my ride. Ported out manifold would be nice though, any idea on how much it could cost?

I don't have any costs yet. The one place I called this afternoon quoted around $500 for just polishing it without even looking at it. So, I will have to keep calling around.

^ great info, got a link for the TB?

Can't find it right now, on my phone at the moment.

Impul stuff isn't cheap, then you'd need to ship it from Japan on top of it. They even have a stroker kit maken the 4.5 to 5.1, 20 grand plus your motor!

Buy a 30 pk and take it one day at a time. The outcome is worth it especially if you're going to save over 400 bucks. I spent about 20 on a polishing kit that came with 3 different compounds, white, red, black and lots of drill bits with attached buffing pads. Then bought some sand paper ranging from 60-220 and 600-2000. When you get it smooth enough with 220, wet sand with the rest. Once you can see yourself start to use the compounds and then get your razor to shave.
