Got a random question and i think the scene may know...

Trying to hook up itunes on a computer with the ps3, kind of like making the ps3 into a media player. What is the best way to do this? any free software out there that is recommended? I'm running windows 7 fwiw

Not sure about iTunes in particular, but I play my music on PS3 via Windows Media service running on a PC. Working pretty well.

Pman: do you store the music on your ps3 like an external hard drive? And you want to play it from there?
If so, then you change the library directory to look in the different location.

Currently music is stored on the computer, was wondering if i could hook it up wirelessly to the ps3 somehow and be able to press 'play' from the computer but with the playback actually coming from the ps3.

I tried Andy's method using windows media and it syncs the computer / ps3 successfully, just a bit slow to load and no control via computer...

Yeah, the way I use simply using the music stored on the PC. I doubt you can do the way you wanted - control the playing on the PC while three playback through the PS since the PS3 must be hooked up to the receiver and floor standing speakers. How about a Blu-tooth device that hook into the receiver and the PC so you simply stream the music to the receiver.
Something like this: http://www.belkin.com/us/G3A2000-Belkin/p/P-G3A2000;jsessionid=9E1CE6FEAB68D0A27B354B342916C549

Nope. The only intakes that are available for VK45 are JWT Pop Charger and Injen CAI(retrofit)

Could I put that filter on the end? I really just like how it looks :p

Okay, so I'm looking at JWT but it has no piping? Just a filter?
