The Random Question Thread

I remember seeing a thread with the metal lower engine splash gaurds with the access panel for doing oil changes but have not been able to find it. Any help would be great.

perosnally id rather buy an adopter from a drill to socket and use my drill to remove the screws for the oem guard. much cheaper. You need to remove screws for the gtspec one anyways.

The problem with that gt-spec pan is that it only has one access door location option, and the 1st gen FX has three different oil filter locations.

Looks like the door for the oil filter doesn't line up for the AWD and 425.00 is kind of steep. My plastic one is cracked guess I will be replacing it with another plastic one. Saw some on E Bay for around 140.00

I saw a diy on another forum in which a guy wrapped his splash pan in a kevlar weave with a process similar to fiberglass. It was pretty awesome, I'll try to find it...

I actually ordered that one because the description said it was compatible but when I went back and clicked on the drop down check for compatibility it said not compatible. So I called them to find out which was true and they told me it was not compatible with an 04 FX so I wound up canceling the order.

Just as a price reference, several months ago Rick @ Perry quoted me like $107, I think. I got distracted with something else and never went down to see him. But the price is out there. I'd hate to go thru the hassle of buying one and having it shipped to learn it's the wrong one.

I installed it on my 04 awd with no issues.
