FX4BR

I planned it through very carefully with my auto body guy this morning. All parts that were going to be painted Ivory Pearl in the future are now going to be painted with the same batch of paint along with the repairs, because I want it all to be the same. Multiple batches of the "same paint" stress me out. Everything that will be done Ivory Pearl is the new trunk, new front bumper, new back bumper, all lower black trim, all door handles, and shaving the word "INFINITI" off of rear chrome pieces and having them done IP as well. Going to go back at a later date and have some black paint work done as well, but this time around I only want the IP done so I can photoshop some ideas onto it.

Excellent! Take bad situation and turn it around. Hey, really glad to hear that you weren't hurt in the accident BTW.

A few people have complained about my lights, claiming that they cannot possibly be bright enough with the tint, so I went through my photos to try to find some with the lights on and here are a few. The first two are from when my hazards were on in my accident (so this level of light would be equivalent to stepping on the brakes or using my turn signals) and the last one is from my trip to my cabin in the snow a couple weeks ago from straight on. I will take specific pictures of lighting once my FX is all repaired so people can see that there isn't much of a difference, but for now, these will have to do. Excuse the quality, pics were taken with my iphone:

Here's my ride until my FX is completely fixed. One of my family's many cars. I'm actually pretty surprised with the pick-up it has!

Been lonely without my FX, so I looked at some pics of my old cars. Here is a mini-history. I imagine it will grow much more, as I'm currently 23 years old. #1: Chrysler PT Cruiser, #2: Infiniti FX35, #3: VW Beetle GLS 1.8T, and #4: Infiniti FX35 Sport. Seriously looking forward to getting my FX back... can't stand looking outside and not seeing it.

Nice history you have here. You know you love the FX when you upgrade from one to a newer model. True enthusiast, I say. I know the feeling when you are not around your car. I'll get crabby if I have to drive any other car for an extended amount of time, lol. What is the current status of the repair?

Thanks! I really do love the FX so much. Repairs are coming along, and damages are up to $9,800 so far (my body guy says this is the total for repairs unless something else comes up). They finally received all of the new parts, so I should have it back probably in another week. The work I'm having them do on top of the repairs will take a bit of time too. Can't wait though :D

UPDATE: So my baby is still in the shop. I was told yesterday that Infiniti no longer offers the trunk lid with the back-up camera hole (???) so the body shop is having to cut/mount themselves into a trunk without the back-up camera setup. Second, they are still waiting on the delivery of the rear bumper. Aside from these things, all of the lower black trim, door handles, chrome strips from trunk, emblem from trunk, and front bumper are all prepped and ready for paint. The quote as of now is $9800 (which her insurance will pay) for the damages, and $1500 (which I will pay) for the additional custom work, so there's a good amount of work being done here. Hope to have it back within another week's time! View attachment 246905

Glad you're getting her back soon. It's amazing how attached you get to a car. I hope the repairs come out great and can't wait to see the "additional custom work"

Hello all! So I'm still waiting on getting my FX back :mad.: It has been 28 days, and I'm getting antsy!!! I finally decided a few days ago to get a rental SUV (on behalf of her insurance) because the 300C wasn't cutting it (I'm 6'5" tall, and head was touching the roof). They first gave me a red Hyundai Santa Fe, which I promptly returned because the inside smelled like an ashtray (and it wasn't all that pretty of a car, to be honest). They then gave me a silver Jeep Patriot, which I actually don't mind looking at haha. It is SLOW though, kinda driving me insane. I'm still driving it, and will be next week too, but will have my FX back sometime next week, YAY! Here is a crappy nighttime photo, taken with my iphone of the Jeep:

It's DONE!!! I was so excited to go pick it up, and it looks absolutely stunning! I only took one photo because it was getting dark (crappy pic) and I was in a HUGE hurry to get to dinner. In any case, this pic kinda shows the IP door handles, IP lower plastic trim around car, IP license plate trim, and black Infiniti emblem. SO happy :)

Thanks guys! :smile (2): Gosh it feels so great to be inside of the FX again too. So frickin' comfortable... I made a phone call the second I got inside, and it's been so long that I forgot about the Bluetooth. It was a nice surprise. Will definitely be taking more photos tomorrow!
