2009 FX50S
I cannot express how satisfied I am with the prestigious society Nav and video enhancement.

I installed this a few hours ago and it works like a charm with my 2009 FX50S, although it also works with FX35 and 2010s+. I've been wanting to do the nav mod for quite some time now, but didn't want to cut or mess with any wires, or try and come up with some tacky switch myself. The thread on this topic has been long discussed here:
///8068

Now kpp technologies has a product that offers all bypasses, but they don't support the video bypass. In fact, when I emailed them, after several days they finally got back to me that it cannot be done. Although I found forums where guys have bypassed this on this mod, but the instructions are not clear since it is not supported. Plus, the instructions on the bypass in general are a nightmare and requires soldering onto our cars! Really? Do I really want to risk damaging a part with customer service that isn't great?

I wanted something simple, that just worked, and was easily removable and this is it.
Here is the site:

I emailed them and they got back to me within hours. I emailed them with more question and yet again within 12 hours. These guys are good!

Got it in:

Instructions are unbelievable....best I have seen in a mod EVER. Detail step by step of exactly our car.

Install took about 45 minutes....you just disconnect one of the plugs that go into the screen and plug it into their unit, and then plug their unit into the screen, and that's it! Plus you have a control where you just click it and it lets you do anything for 5 minutes, or you can set it to always be manual in case you want to watch videos for a long time.

I now can access all my address books, put in addresses, search all my phone contacts, all mp3s, watch movies through my ipod, or if you have DVDs that will work, etc easily while driving, or shall I say my wife now can do all these things while I am driving!

Now one downside is that it doesn't bypass the auto OK button at startup, but they explained in the email why. They said their product is a passive system where it controls the various sensors instead of intrusive and manipulative to the factory system. OK for me then. It is a little pricey at about $300, but the beauty is that it's easy and it just works with everything you want and if you sell your car ever, you can remove it easily and I'm sure you'll be able to sell it quickly. :tup:

One more note....these guys are great and I hope they join and become part of Infiniti scene at some point because I'd love to get some more mods developed by these guys. They build great mods with great service and instructions and that's what we need.

There's tons of stuff that I would want and have heard others mention, but my two top wants are:
1. Auto folding close mirrors on lock, and open mirrors on unlock. I have seen this mod in Japan and can't get my hands on it and I'm sure it's expensive and instructions in japanese. We need these guys to build this mod. I know there is a lot of interest in this also:

2. With the mod of removing one of the wires in order to be able to have front camera on when driving. It would be great to have a mod where something can do this with a switch so you can see the front or the rear while driving. I have seen a few threads on this as well.
Here is the thread for the mod of front camera, but for 2009+ I think nobody has successfully done it yet:

Great find and looks like a really nice kit !
Will this work if you don't have the nav ? I'd like to use my back-up camera while driving or watch movies if I could using my iPod or a video player .

Just email them and ask...I think so.

instructions are very similar to this thread post:
///8068
but then you also remove the screen by unscrewing 2 screws and then 2 more screws to pull out the nav unit. Prestige's instructions are several pages long.

I thought the PS mod allowed the cameras to work while driving too. :err: What sensors are controlling the use of the camera vs. the phone/nav/aux video input?

Doh, never mind. I just re-read Jonas comments and realized what is lacking is the ability to control which camera is showing.

It seems like all the 2nd generation FX get all the cool gadgets lol

Did u do it?

Yes, i have all that done along with the camera mod, and Autofolding mirrors. I made the Vid of the Autofolding mirrors and the Camera mod that you posted. But you have a 2009 which is a little different. With the manual and a little time you can figure out which wires you need to work with.

Where did you place the switches for the nav mod...just curious?

Can you share how you did the autofolding mirrors? I'd really appreciate it...it's the next most wanted mod I've been wanting to do.

i had a friend put together a little control box for me. Then i just adapted it to the mirror control wires. I was gonna sell them but my friend doesn't know the reliability of the unit so he went against it.

Hey Saleen when u did the nav on the go mod, did you have to take apart the front panel thing under the nav? I saw this other DIY and this guy went on the driver side near the pedals and on the side was some wirings.

Yes, the nav mod requires you to take apart the whole center section. The DIY that you saw was for the camera mod.

I still wouldn't pay 300+ on a unit when there's DIY with pictures for free. its really only 2 wires to get the nav working.....

You wouldn't pay 300+ because you are handy with this stuff and you have friends that can build control parts for you. For someone that doesn't know this stuff and doesn't know people like you do, this is a great deal because it came with great instructions, plug and play, no worrying about wrong wires, no worrying about trying to incorporate a switch, create a relay to control it, have manual or auto modes, warranty, etc.

Just like if they came out with auto-folding mirrors. There are many on the site that I'm sure would jump on this. If it's 300, then to me it's a bargain because I want it and I cannot get it. I tried to get this one kid to get it for me when he was in Tokyo and I haven't heard back. If you are good at this stuff with your buddy and you think these prices are way too much, then I think you are missing a good opportunity to make some good money here if you don't try and sell these yourself.

Thanks for the review on this product. I've been looking for a plug & play solution as well. I'll post a review of how it works on my 2010 FX.
