Which Gt Spec Bracing helps allot?

LOL, slow down Chris! :skull: Which braces were you thinking of getting?

Lol trying too but all these great buys are all coming in at once not giving me a chance to recoup. I was looking into the below items, what Andy suggested to me while ago.

GTS-SUS-1321 4 Point ladder brace 04-08 FX35/45 $205.00
GTS-SUS-1318 rear lower lateral brace 04-08 FX35/45 $93.00

If you already have the STB, might be best to get the rears to balance it out. They are the cheapest and easiest to install anyway. I had just the rears on for a few days, but it's been so long I can't remember. I want to say they seemed to help a lot, and I didn't notice as much of a change when I put the fronts on. I already had the Stillen STB and H&R springs.

I installed the rear upper and lower lateral braces and strut brace at different times before I installed the H&R springs. So I was able to feel the difference of each item individually.
I can say that with each of the installs I could notice a marked improvement during hard acceleration in tight corners. The combined improvements make for a very stable tight feeling while hitting the corners while accelerating hard. FUN FACTOR :tup:

Dracula,

You have RWD, and I assume you haven't added the OEM rear sway? This might even make the rear braces give you more of an improvement than these guys with AWD and the rear sway would feel.

4 point is a pain to install, I suggest the mid chassis instead.

The two rears are very easy, just use white out to mark the position of the washer so you don't change your rear alignment.

Yeah, 4 point was the hardest for me. I actually had to go to someone to get it done. We ended up taking off the sway bar to get to some of the bolts. That brace also seems to get in the way often. I had trouble tightening the steering rack, putting on HFC's, and can longer remove the smaller underbelly pan.

It's certainly possible. When I did my last AutoX, all I did was understeer, but I attribute most of that to being on a slick surface and having so much weight pushing me through turns.

I believe Dave or someone said that the rear braces increase oversteer, and fronts increase understeer. I noticed with just the rears I had an issue with oversteer and actually ended up coming around a turn and hitting a curb when the rear kicked out on me as the road surface dropped down.

I must admit though, with all the suspension stuff I have now I couldn't be much more happy. I was on a semi slick road the other day, and punched through a turn. I usually do that because the FX will slide a little. However, this time I got into a huge drift on accident, probably about 30-40 degrees off of straight, and corrected it with one hand on the wheel. I went from  to  to  in about 5 seconds.

I think that's a pretty universal rule of chassis tuning. The basis is how firmly your tires are in contact with the ground. Connecting the two front (or rear) wheels together more rigidly increases the inner tire's tendency to lift off the ground in a corner, thereby eliminating it's traction potential entirely. If that happens in the front you get understeer. In the back - oversteer.

That's awesome. I remember reading a quote a while back from a famous F1 driver that said something like " If you feel like you're in control the whole time, you aren't going fast enough."

nope dont have one yet, so basically rear lateral and tie? or just rear lateral will help?

Personally, I would just do both with how cheap they are. Should help to have both, so hopefully it would feel better.

Any reason you do or don't want to do the whole set? If you don't mind buying more, you can always just get 1 or 2 now, see how they feel, and buy more later.

I would suggest the Mid brace. You will FEEL this one.

Mid.
Mid..
Mid...

ordered the rear lateral brace, now its either the mid or rear tie, cant decide lol

Mid, price is unbelievable. I think MSRP was $400 when it first came out then went to $299. This brace is the largest one too, getting free shipping is unreal too.

This is a good question. Anyone care to jump on it?

Hmm, dose the FX has then tendency of understeer initially? I install one brace at a time and when the ladder brace was install. I did not feel any differences in steering or handling.
