Email him but also call him bc if you talk to him on the phone is different he might not want to deal with the issue and have the service department fix it. Matter of fact go down there and ask to speak to him in person that might be better that way he gets to see how frustrated you are with the work and how your planning on never using them for service including me.

this is what I got exactly in my e-mail this morning

"Hi Jimmy,

Although we did not damage your shifter assembly during your previous repair, we will take care of repairing the issue, because you are our customer and we appreciate your business. I have ordered the part and will let you know when it comes in so that you can bring your vehicle in for repair.

Have a great day!

Not owning up to their mistake but at least they are fixing it. I still wouldn't bring it back to them after this fiasco.

yeahh i was thinking the same thing, I get this e-mail from her after i emailed the general manager of the dealership yesterday, maybe that had something to do with it, im gonna stay away from them for a long time

Guarantee someone was pulling hard on something near the center console and put their body weight onto the shifter and stripped the bushings. Everyone knows a dealer will try and get away with breaking soemthing if it is not initially noticed

Bro the reason they are fixing it it's because u emailed the big boss there. I dealt with her before when I have gone there and I really can't stand her. She's kind of rude and talks to u in a sarcastic way. When I had the issue with them she was like oh we would have never messed that up blah blah blah. She probably got yelled at or spoken to by her boss who told them to fix the problem. When u go in she will probably try to kiss ur ass lol and also make sure they reserve a rental for u.

yeah i would be pissed too man..its like when i got my car back from a month being in the shop because a drunk driver hit the back of my car..i got my car back and my battery was completly dead and they tried to feel me some bullshit but i ended up gettin my money back for buying a new one

Question, if they didn't mess it up, how would they know what part to order or did they tell you what was wrong when you brought it in? What if you just take the part and have it fixed somewhere else?

Anyways, if you don't plan to take it back, at least email her again, cc the service director, and cc the GM of the dealership. Just tell them you are going to report them to Infiniti consumer affairs, that there are already a bunch of negative posts about them online, and that you are going to post your incident on all the major Infiniti forums and recommend they go to a different dealership for service haha.

You should check to make sure everything on your dash works, heated seats, and so on.

I noticed the problem before I even left the lot, I started up my car put it into gear and felt it already. I told them before I rolled off and I already had to swing back because my dash was basically falling off when I got home, they admitted that the dash was poorly put together and fixed that right away, but my shifter I had to push more to have them fix it. Theres no point on telling them that this is online, even if they didn't accept the blame (which is complete bs) they have accepted to fix it, I can live with it I'll take this as a lesson learned
edit: I checked all my buttons too see if they worked before i even put it in gear, those were fine :)

Letting them know that they are talked about negatively might not help your current situation, but it could help the next customer. Just my opinion.

Just as an update on the shifter assembly problem, its been a full week and they have yet to email me or contact me in anyway Im gonna E-mail them tomorrow morning to try to find an answer

Hi Jimmy,

Your part is here. Please let me know when you would like to come in, it will take about an hour to install.

Thanks!

yeahh it took them wayyy longer then they needed to, and they only sent me that email because I sent them one asking if they had my parts in, they didn't just try to get in contact with me

They were probably hoping u forgot or took it somewhere else to get it fixed.

Its interesting how some dealerships will go out of their way and others try to rip you off on anything they can. Same thing with take out food places. Some will give you extra rice, meat, sauces, etc no problem and others will charge you $.50 for an extra chopstick. Guess whos repeat customer I'm going to be?
