This one of the easiest mod to date! All plug & play.
Drill a hole to securely mount the chip rather than using the supplied double sided tape if you chose.

I have been running with the chip for about two months now. My initial impression was, I notice all
my mods are working smoothly in harmony since the install of the chip. I have not taken my car in for
a dyno to get some concrete number on gain. I will update this DIY when I have that done.

The chip comes with a base map for basic intake and exhaust mods.
You can switch from the "Regular" map to an "Aggressive" map via a toggle switch.
Map change on the fly is NOT recommended with the toggle switch that it comes with.
You can buy a fancier Map Selector switch from Unichip to change map on the fly if you chose.

Thx Andy...been waiting for you to post this one lol. Let us know if you get some
custom maps done and how it goes.

Some information on a Nissan 350z.

The European tuner, Unichip, revealed a new customization program that improves the engine’s specifications using only a Unichip Uni-Q Ecu. With this technology, the tuner managed to raise the output by 20 HP and 26 lb.ft of torque, to an impressive 284 HP and 262 lb.ft. Also, with an additional Unichip boost control module, the Uni-Q is also suitable for Nissan 350Z turbocharger conversions and is flexible enough to handle any future additional engine modifications.

Has anyone had any problems with unichip? i live in a hot climate so im worried about what the chip does when you set it in aggresive mode .... do you feel the difference when you switch between these maps? thnks

Had it on for about two months now. Been set in Aggressive pretty much from day one. I set it to Normal for a couple of days and will report back.

There are 2 5 way map selectors, I think I like the electronic one better as it tells you what map you are using.

I am thinking of a few maps:
1 = valet (can't go over X RPM, Y speed, in grandma mode)
2 = base (same as stock)
3 = aggressive, 93 octane, high rev limiter, up speed limit, intake, exhaust, transgo, etc...
4 = Fuel economy priority, 91 octane, lower rpm shifts, etc...
5 = ?

Yeah...I saw these. I like the one that shows what number map you are on. I think it's reasonable for $75 bucks.

Ed,
Like your idea for the maps layout....wonder if you could just do a few if you don't
need all five.

Yes, I think the standard just comes with two maps and a dummy switch (can change, but not "on-the-fly", i.e. not under load/driving).

I *think* maps are $5.00 each if one is available. You can load up to 5 maps.

If you don't have a USB cable for the Unichip, you can send it in and I think they quoted me $25 to reflash it with new maps.

Dyno graph and installation manual for 350z.

Look, Andy does another mod, does a great write up -- and now people are interested. See a trend?
