Unichip Installation

Nevermind...FX45 already got his and this GB is closed. Sorry...but still contact Aaron @ UniChip

Sorry, about that I couldn't wait any longer and I didn't see too much movement on the Feeler thread. I still got a great buy from Aaron so differently call him. Thanks too Ed for being the leader on this.

No worries bro...did u install it yet??
Let me know your thoughts...will be ordering mine from Aaron this week or next

I keep resisting the urge to just drive out to Unichip and ask all my questions at once, but I'm sort of afraid I'll impulsively buy one before I'm ready. It's like 20min from my house...

Hahaa...do it tchuck!! What are u waiting for?

After further driving, the UniChip is amazing.

Noticeable difference throughout the RPMs, and much less hesitation to launch.

As with any car, a pre-set map won't be perfect, but this is pretty close. From standstill to flooring it and going through all the gears, near the high end I am running a little rich from the smell of the exhaust. Or at least that is what I think.

A little tweaking of the air/fuel ratios and I am done and done.

Handy_Andy, I am 100% in for your custom tuning and tools. Like I said before, I have no use for the tools afterwards, so as a bonus they are yours to keep=)

Anyone else that goes in should agree to the same, since we all can't keep one tool.

Ed, I got your message. Driving with the recent maps from the 350Z for the last few days, I'm impress what a difference the maps made in comparison with the original maps that the chip came with. I will get with Aaron to order the additional tools to log the data that he needed to build a custom map for us.

I need to get scanner and a wideband o2 sensor from them. The scanner plug into the OBDII port then into a laptop with their software to do the data logging.

That's actually a nice hat. Man, you even got freebies? I set up the deal and get hosed=)

Nice hat. So when are you going to put it on? I mean the chip

Andy, any issues w/ the 350Z maps? So you are still going to have Aaron do a custom tune for you? You think it will make that much a difference??

Yes, maybe not much more hp/torque wise, but make the car run that much better -- yes.

Air/fuel ratio is critical for maximum efficiency among others.

No issue with the 350Z maps. Loving them. Yup I wanted to have Aaron to do a custom map. I need to purchase additional tools to log the data he needed though. I do think a custom map will bring out some more power. Just going from the original map to the 350Z map, I do notice a significant difference already.

Ed...got it. I was just wondering if it was absolutley necessary w/ the UniChip since
it already has maps pre-loaded.

So are you guys chipping in for tools? I remember Aaron telling me they send you a kit so they can remote in to your car and tune it and then you send it back once finished?

So far myself and Andy are in for sure. I think Chris is.

It's not absolutely necessary at all, but every stock car is a little different, and throw in everyone having a different intake, exhaust, etc...

You will run 100% fine without a custom tune, the pre-loaded maps work great. I was surprised they had a 2003 FX45.

Take baby steps, get the UniChip first, then think about custom tuning it.
