FX mania - What made you purchase your FX?

I had a solara convertible and needed more room for the family. I looked at all sorts of suv’s and narrowed my selection to the MDX or the FX. I had 3 MDX’s before and liked it; however, it was missing the WOW factor that the FX had. I was sold on the first FX test drive; however, I delayed my purchase until I found the right one at the right price!!! I found the right one at the right price 400 miles away and book the next flight out to pick her up!!! The drive home in the FX was great and I’m very happy with the purchase. I’m keeping her for a long time!!!! If I don’t keep her, my friends and family are waiting to buy her from me. ;-)

What sold me on the FX was the interior/exterior styling and most importantly to me was the tech. This thing is definately an attention getter. I followed up on the 2nd gen FX ever since the first official spy shots got out of that one in camouflage on the side of the street. I knew I wanted this car sooooooo bad.

I wanted one with the premium, navigation, deluxe touring, and technology packages. To my amazement my friend Kenny over at Infiniti of Massapequa got one in with black obsidian and graphite interior fully loaded. I went in and it was perfect for me! Ibought it the same day no questions asked. It's what I had been looking for the whole year. On top of having all the packages I wanted and being fully loaded, it also had the rear DVD entertainment package and tow package. Not only did I get the perfect color combo and all the options I wanted and more, my friend Kenny made the transaction and buying experience simple and fun.

I couldn't ask for a better car to be honest with you. I actually look at my FX as my dream car. When the finance manager asked me how long did I plan on keeping the FX, I told him I was going to keep it till all four wheels fall off and the motor blows up on me in a milllion billion miles lol. I plan on keeping this car forever. I know nothing lasts forever, but you guys know what I mean.

That's why I take care of her. If I take care of here, she'll return the same favor to me.

I was in the market for a new ride after the horrible year I had with my partner stealing all of my money.

...

To my surprise my dad gave me the keys and told me.... "I got it for you. Just wanted to help you out.".... My knees became weak and I had to grab a chair.....

That's a great story Bert. Your dad rules.

Wife and I had always liked them from the time they first came out. But at the time, we weren't in the market. Then in late '05, we were in the market for a new car and started looking around. Unfortunately, the new Lexus IS came out around then. Went into a dealership early '06 and somehow a couple of hours later, had one of the first couple of dozen IS350's in Atlanta. First and only car I've bought on impulse and the only car I've ever paid full sticker for. Then in late '09, the IS was totalled and by then, we needed a bigger car since a baby seat in an IS is an ordeal. So we got the FX; it took about 6 years longer than planned, but I suppose it was meant to be.

I want a cross over with the ability to have a carry compartment. No other SUV makes my head nuts. FX 2009+ did. Every time I saw one on the road, makes me turn my neck.

I can't afford a brand new full price. Then I waited almost a year until find a good deal on a pre-owned. Now I have it.

I love my FX... :-)

I live in the NE area where the winters are brutal and the summers are extremely hot, i needed a car that would be both capable of handling the winters here and something to take on those G35s on the highways ;) what sealed the deal was the exhaust sound, simply amazing

for me it was the blend of youthful style, just enough gadgets and features without being overkill, unique style and attitude (for an suv), the color (copper), all that for a reasonable price.

1. Needed something with AWD/4WD
2. Had to be something fun to drive & reliable.
3. My previous experiences with Nissan products -
a. Maxima 274k miles (still running when I sold it)
b. 1 Sentra (40k miles in a year no problems)
c. I35 Reliable, very refined
d. Sentra SE - 150k+ miles super reliable
e. G20 almost 200k miles still running when sold
f. Spec V - drove hard 60k in 2 years super reliable
4. FX fit the bill

My brother had a 99' G20 and I loved the performance and reliablilty....wanted a G35 for the longest time but then saw someone with a Copper 35 that was modded w/ black rims. Changed my mind right then and got the FX 6 months later...

Was going to buy a Porsche Cayenne S but came across the FX by taking trips back and forth from MD to NY. Fell in luv with the FX, and since I already have a G35 why not just add to the family. I'm still going to buy a Euro as of right now I have my eyes on a few...

I was actually lucky enough to receive the FX35 as my first car from my brother after he bought a new car. I did see something in the FX and pushed him to purchase it when he was car shopping awhile back and now it is mine...so maybe it was meant to be? :smile (2):

Back when they first came out a friend got the FX35. I loved it. Fast forward to this year and another friend has a QX56 and I love that one too. My wife and I wanted to get a new SUV and we wanted something nicer. We had a 2008 Xterra that we just loved. And Nissan just makes killer cars. We looked at Cadillac, but decided at this time, it wasn't what we wanted. I wanted to show my wife a FX cause I knew she would like them, but at first she was like, this is too small. Then the dealership drove up in the FX50s, handed us the keys and my wife feel in love. We bought it right then.

back in 2004, when most people didnt have it or knew what it was called. Got it brand new 1 mile on odo; silver use to be the color 7 years ago with beige interior :). The list goes on, funny thing was i had never test driven the car or even sat in it. Went straight to the dealer and bought it. Lol test drove it on my way home..

To put it plainly, the test drive. I was in the market for an SUV, wasn't sure what I wanted. Saw a 2005 fx35 for around 17k, wanted to go take a closer look. Ended up buying a 2008 certified FX35 with 40k miles for a bit more ( a bit...) and haven't looked back. Absolutely love the power, ride, turning radius, etc. it is about the best vehicle I could have chosen for the money!

How cool it looked and how it was AWD. Also the fact that it was much cheaper then the other vehicles I was looking at. Also the fact that with Infiniti you get more bang for your buck.
