Plug and play nav bypass no cutting

ok, i just was unaware that the gps cuts out while using the system. That kinda seems like a pain too.

So if you're driving along with a route programmed in, and you want to scroll through your ipod without the car being stopped, you hit the switch on, correct? and when you do, you will lose where you are on the map because the gps is disabled? seems there would be a way around that. if not, whats your overall experience with using the bypass module? pros and cons

yo don't "lost it" it just stops from moving on the map. You can't look at navigation while the moving is running on the screen anyway so there really is no issue and no issue to just press a button to switch it back. I love mine. I couldn't imagine without it and it's one of my wife's favorite mods in the FX. Just buy it already. You won't regret it.

When I got my FX I had originally planned on tis being my first and most important mod !!! This isn't the case anymore since I have either my IPad or Nexus 7 and a AT&T HotSpot where both are easily connected to the Internet and everything like movies or games easily available :smile (2):

^ This. When wanting to use a function like adding way-points or entering street address then you are only enabling the bypass few a few seconds.

We have spent a lot of time looking to see if we could have the best of both worlds, probably too much time given that it isn't really an issue.

i see. I'm totally getting this mod first thing, i was just curious as to how exactly it works or what problems you run into.

as far as the switch goes, where do you guys have it mounted? and was installation easy to mount it where you wanted it?

This is why we made the remote based version. You don't have to worry about mounting switches and can pair the remote with the homelink buttons. You can see both ways in action on the following page

does this unit function exactly the same as the prestiguous society one?

also does it come with instructions as thorough as theirs?

i like the paring to the homelink buttons, i don't have a use for those in my current living situation

also is does this unit work on a 2009? i noticed it said 2010+

Our kits are better but of course I'm biased.

I believe their is only the speed bypass and not the parking brake bypass or it at least it used to be. Our 2010+ kit also offers the rear camera override as well.

For 2009 you would want
http://www.carkitcompany.com/infiniti-fx35/remote-bypass-kit-2009

I believe our kits are substantially cheaper also. But don't take my word for it have a look around the forums and see what our customers are saying.

And yes they come with full instructions which is why we don't list as many cars. We don't list unless we have detailed pictures for the vehicle in question.

I may think about buying one. The fact that the navi cuts me off from this is annoying. So everything is plug and play you say??

Yes, completely plug and play, no wires to cut or join. You basically remove the connector from the back of the AV unit, plug one of our harness in to the back of the AV unit and then plug the connector you removed in to the other end of the harness.

Available for first gen?

Currently we don't list a kit for first gen FXs but I could take a look and let you know, what year/model do you have?

so after buying your kit, on what setting am i able to watch VIDEO from my iphone on my nav? I have the deluxe touring, sport, and NAV packages on an '09 fx35. I don't see any setting on my nav unit for video. Can you please tell me how to get video to playback from an iphone?

Playing video on a 2009 fx35 Nav screen from an iphone?

Hey guys. So I've been trying to research exactly how i can stream netflix off of my iphone onto my nav screen. I have a 2009 with the ipod integration kit. I have no trouble streaming audio from my iphone to the nav but Can you stream video through the integration cable provided? if so, how? or do you have to go through the RCA input located just under the integration cable?

I'm ordering this product:
http://www.carkitcompany.com/infiniti-fx35/remote-bypass-kit-2009

which allows me to bypass the stock Nav unit's settings of restricting access while moving. So once installed, I will technically be able to watch video while moving.

the question remains of how i get video off of my iphone onto the nav screen. Anyone help me out? do i just need to get an RCA->1/8" adapter and play it through the headphone jack of the iphone? Or am i able to stream video through the ipod integration wire? thanks guys

iphone av cable?

is there a seperate cable (not the integration cable) that i need to use for video playback? I can't get video to play off of my iphone. Should i use the RCA input for iphone video? If so what cable do i use?

The kit overrides/bypasses the parking brake and speed sensors. Can your passengers see a video today when the vehicle is stationary with the parking brake on?

I believe your vehicle has the Aux audio/video RCA inputs (You know the Yellow, Red and While ones)? Today you should be able to connect your iPhone to the screen via a cable like this http://astore.amazon.com/bdlhome-20/detail/B001H9NX3O

The problem would be that as soon as you take the parking brake off or start moving >5mph the pictures goes off the screen and that is where the bypass kit comes in.

The steaming support through the iphone is audio only so yes you will need an iPhone AV cable to connect to the RCA inputs to get video as well as audio.

Thanks for the replies, and sorry to ave posted a new thread regarding the same question, i was havin a tough time finding an answer. So, the mising piece for me was that AV cable. I was thinking that it would be able to play through the ipod integration kit cable that it came with. I have now bought the appropriate cable to go from my iphone to the RCA jacks and video plays just fine. Ordered the bypass kit and am looking forward to stream video's on roadtrips. thanks for the help guys

Just wanted to report back after installing the remote bypass kit. The Car Kit Company got it shipped to me in 2 days, and it just arrived this morning. It is a really easy install to do yourself and I have no experience installing or messing with a cars electronics. The only thing i had trouble with was removing the trim, and it wasn't even that it was hard, is was that i was unsure of how hard i should be trying to yank the pieces off without breaking or cracking them. Once i figured out that it just takes a slight pull, the rest was a breeze. Brian was even nice enough to give me a call when i told him i was having some trouble and he walked me through it. Anyway, it works like a charm and i have it sync'd to the homelink buttons on the rearview for easy access. Now i can stream youtube and netflix in the car while moving. Also you can plug in address's or enter phone numbers in while the car is in motion. pretty cool stuff if you want to actually utilize the cars nav system. Anyway, that's my report. thanks for all the help and useful info on here and thanks to brian at the car kit company for doing solid business.
