When im driving on a bumpy road, at moderate speed, steering wheel feels loose and plus to the right, sometimes i try to let go of steering wheel and it would really turn right. It doesnt feel tight. Its lil more hard to explain. But on hwy smooth roads car drives fine and straight. Let go of steering wheel everything is fine. Only in bumps. But no wheel noise while making any turns tho. I have 75k miles on a 2004 fx35

worth a check but I am getting a feeling that since the fx's are soo sterring sensitive, that may be the nature of beast especially since it is only happening on bumpy roads.

thanks guys i thought i was the only one and werent gonna be able to find anything on this, so wheel alignment, tires and checking the control arm link?

ive got some goodyear all season with tire thread (you can see lincolns head on the penny) in 3 of the tires and the other tire with just a lil more meat than the rest. i have 75k on this fx btw.

take your ride into a couple of tire shops and let them check. My steering came to normal after lower control arm was fixed, my steering felt tighter. Also motor mounts are huge cause to wobbling and steering wonder, check that too.
Alignment can be the issue as well

On the other forum they said to tighten the bolt somewhere by the sterring rack under the driver wheel well. Ill try that first then tires then alignment

You are correct, I had this same problem.......remove your driver front wheel, there is a 24mm size bolt on the steering rack, hard to miss. I had to turn mine 1 full turn to get the steering tight again. Sorry I was too lazy to take a picture for this diy, but definitely not needed.......

i had a mechanic turn it for me, he said it he turned more than once coz it was loose. while i held on the steering wheel straight. feels very good now. more responsive now!
