Stolen Wheels

I've been seeing a lot more G's having their wheels stolen in perfectly good neighborhoods. It's pretty disheartening to see stuff like this even though it's not my car. Any reason why they're targeting G's? Also, what do you guys do to prevent stuff like this from happening to yourself?

I wonder what wheels were on that G. It's not even the type S. Sucks that happened. It's also happening to the Z's also. I see it happening all over. Two friends of mine, 1 with g37s and the other friend with a 350z with the stock 5 stars both got stolen in front of their houses.

Poor guy. I think it's the times we are living. I had the glass mirrors stolen one time and my brothers Audi S5 3 times stolen in the last month and a half.

Wow that sucks. No wonder the insurance rates on the G's are ridiculous.

Honestly if your able to afford a G, you should be able to afford a garage to put it in. I know not everyone has access to a garage, but still.....

I cant believe they let the front end drop to the ground like that.

I hope this trend doesnt continue to fx 20s. Lately everytime I wake up at night I peek out of the window to see if the cars that are I the driveway are still ok.

You know what worries me? It's not the fact that they might steal our rims, but more of what kind of damage they may cause when stealing the rims like letting the car drop to the ground.

I agree.

Either way, just gotta remember that's what insurance is for...nothing really else you can do if you have no garage.

^^ any suggestions on how to deter or at least slow them down?......other than my dog in the back seat with the windows open.

Wheels locks are easy to get off. It's only a way to slow them down. If even that. There's tools out there you would be suprised they sell to get off wheel locks.

Yep that's what we use (and where the extra 5 seconds come from). It's basically a hardened socket that multiple sharp teeth that digs into the softer lock nut. Its amazing how easy they are to remove, especially they they were properly torques and not air gunned to the max.

If wheel theft is rampant in your area, the only thing you can do is use multiple lock sets to slow them down and a tilt sensor for your alarm. This way, the alarm is on as soon as they start raising your car. Hopefully that and the multiple locks will push them to the next car.
